Since vacation picks are out and most of us are on our way to getting promoted.... What have you guys been seeing in regards to cop picks being honored as a SGT? Any horror stories?

If you are in a creme puff command your picks will be honored but if you are in a busy house you will have to kiss those picks goodbye. This is coming from friends of mine who wound up in Brooklyn commands.

Not true, I am in Brooklyn north command, my first pick on Halloween was honored, we will see if my Xmas pick will be honored. All depends on how many sgts are already on vacation during your tour. Needs of dept... Blah blah blah, but there is always hope!

Yup, and I'm in a cream puff command and mine were NOT honored. So my academy buddy above and I go to show you that nothing is set in stone.

I had good picks in one command as a sergeant, got transferred mid-year and was told in the new place that none of my A picks were happening unless I produced plane tickets. Welcome to the best rank on the job!

I had two picks left when I got promoted. Both were honored. If they honor one, and not the other, I say you have a good chance of getting that overturned if you feel like fighting the fight. B/c if not, they are required to have you pick when you get there new picks. By allowing you your first pick during halloween, they are by default telling you your current yearly picks will be honored. All up to you of course how you wanna handle it.

I never did that, but guess you're right. Glad it wasn't on the test, lol.

Any notification to IAB is technically an open case against you, when they generate a log number. That being said something like that should be quickly kicked back to your command and dealt with quickly so it shouldn't hold you up.

Thank you cfgl1888 I hope they'll keep it at a command level. Don't want to get Passover over this nonsense.

actually it comes down as a communication from IAB....in which MOST LIKELY...a CD will need to be issued. HIGHLY doubt it will hold you up. I would adjudicate it as quick as possible if youre worried.

Yea I would definitely try my best to get that out my way. A. CD is better than a GO even thou in the Bx they'll hammer you for any petit minor violation.
