1st I've heard about that. Seems very early considering they haven't finished the old list. Happy Thanksgiving!

If that's true anticipate an announcement from the promotional schools very soon.

Really hard to believe it will happen that early next year. At best late next year but I'm leaning towards 2014.

Can we talk about next class? When is it? I'm hearing about Dec 21. Did anyone else hear this? Cap. test is not coming sooner than spring 2014. Guaranteed. Keep studying until then if you are .......

For the past 6 month close to 150 got made. By summer 2014 this list will be finished. Lots of retirements coming up across all ranks and potential retirees banked on Sandy's OT

List finished by summer 2014 means it would have only been active for 2 years. There is no way they will have promoted 670+ LTs in 2 years!

Similarly, there would be no way they promoted 150 since till the end of the year...yet they almost did

I agree with that. But we can't expect that to keep up

This list was already said to be a 3 year list but that coupled with all of this hurricane sandy overtime could make it go even faster. Some of these lieutenants have never seen this kind of overtime and may not ever see it again which leaves them no choice but to leave since it works in their favor.

I hope you are correct oneadditional, but I have a LT with over 25yrs and he did a lot of Sandy OT and he is still planning on staying...says because he has small kids....fyi He never does OT unless he is forced

Anyone knows if captains get any chart days? Also, how long is their tour?

I don't know about chart days but I believe all newly promoted Captains have to do 9 hour tours. I don't know if that's for a certain time or if its for the entire time your a capt

No chart days anymore and it's 9 hour tours for the first five years in rank.
