Which plan, the reimbursement or the other one?

Preferably, the comprehensive plan, which does not have a cap.
I don't like how the reimbursement plan caps out at $2500 per person. I don't want to take the chance of someone in my family needing 3 root canals in one year or getting 5 teeth knocked out in a football game and then getting a $10,000 bill. It seems like the reimbursement dentists are a little better quality from what i read in reviews, but that's a risky chance in my opinion.
I'll take suggestions for both though.

You're going to have a hard time finding a dentist in the other plan, since they are the ones assuming the risk of someone in your family having 5 teeth knocked out but they're only getting their flat rate.

ok, then how about some suggestions for the other plan

I use Dr. Flynn in Staten Island. About 15 minutes from the bridge. He's pretty good. The SBA has said for a while they are in favor of combining plans. I guess some of the other unions aren't.

Dr. Setacase in bay ridge is excellent. He works with both PBa and sba and accepts what they offer as payment. Excellent quality work as well.

Also, bump for anyone else with suggestions. It really does seem like most if the dentsits on SBA plan are butchers. If anyone else has suggestions please post or PM me. I have a family of 5 so this is a very important decision for me.

I have a great SBA dentist but she's out in Suffolk. She is also married to a newly promoted LT. So, if you ever move out to the sticks... you're covered!

So, that doesn't sound like much of a recommendation for anyone on the SBA plan. Or am I reading something wrong here?

All these dental place prefer the PBA plan as appose to the SBA, what Hanson place dental told me was that the SBA are slow to pay with a lot more restrictions. the food stamp reference was a joke.

I do notice that my dentist has been a lot less thorough with my checkups since I got promoted.

Okay everyone, Bigote wants us to stop talking about dental, so I guess this thread needs to get closed.
Bigote, why don't you tell us what you want us to talk about and then we'll just talk about that.

Sorry guys! Just saw this now. The dentist I use is Dr. Fishman in East Islip. About 2 minutes from the Southern State or Sunrise Hwy. Here's the website: http://www.eastislipdentalcare.com/. Brand new office, non-bitchy staff, they accept SBA Healthplex when you see Dr. Fishman. I don't do the reimbursement plan- they get paid from Healthplex and that's it. Just need pre-authorization for crowns, root canals, etc. I highly recommend this office!!
