Dont stress it. Guy I know got passed over but hes gonna be in this bmoc class and hes gonna be promoted before the class starts. Probably a CARB hearing you gotta go to just like in his situation

It's most likely an IAB case if you have nothing else going on. No one will tell you that you have an active IAB investigation open. The ICO cant even find that out, all the ICO can find out is past/closed IAB cases.

That's really strange. Usually when someone gets passed over they know why. Are you on force monitoring or Level 2 ? Best of luck, let us know how it works out.

There has got to be way more to your sob story than you are telling us. Until you bother telling us all the pertinent facts allow me to introduce the world's smallest violin.

If you do go to CARB, how do you find out if you are getting promoted or not? Do they tell u or do you have to get passed over again?

Yea. I think they tell you same day or make you sweat a day or two. More than likely youre gonna get promoted cause after all if you still have a gun and shield what you did shouldnt be anything to get passed over for.

Ok I know someone that had two open CCRB and bs IAB case and got promoted. She/He did go to CARB and get screamed at by inspector Jones for about 40 mins. When u do go to CARB they do tell you if you getting passed over or not on the same day or the following.

This sucks, I was scheduled for first bmoc, was told PC has to sign my off on my charges before my charges can be closed. Then I might have to go to carb or see inspector jones. The worst part is waiting for this thing to get signed off on!

Can an open lawsuit filed by a perp get you passed over?

nope...had one while in BMOC.However someone in my BMOC did have to go infront of board bc of a lawsuit she was involved in. They went though while in BMOC. Strange! not sure if theres anything else involved, they swear there was no other disciplinary action involved.

Inspector Jones does not handle CARB. She handles performance monitoring.

Fellas, CARB consists of going before 3 chiefs. Inspector Jones handles excessive/substantiated CDs. Also, most lawsuits should not hold you up, otherwise I wouldnt be in this BMOC. The job knows that you often get sued for just doing your job.

Knight is correct . When you go in front of CARB you go in front of a panel of 3 Chiefs.

3 chiefs or equivalent...I had 2 and a commissioner. They will call you to CARB if you were on level 2 monitoring, or if you have quite a large mark in your CPI. They will grill you in that meeting, but they are mostly looking for you to say you accept responsibility, and have moved on and up, learning from your mistakes. They scheduled me for carb 3 times, only to cancel twice for no reason. I got skipped 2 classes. The third time, I went and it took 5 minutes. They told me I passed 8 days later. On the 9th day, I found out I was getting promoted the next ceremony. Allzen, you are probably the only one who would know why you are getting passed over, even if you got in trouble years ago, and took your lumps and moved on, the job will still hold it over your head. They will tell you you aren't being considered at this time because they have to tell you something, but if you passed the test, and still have your guns, they can't keep passing you. You will get promoted, just not when you thought. And when it happens, it will happen real fast. Best of Luck!
