Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone knows how this would work. What happens if you are out on Leave do they skip u?

I don't have personal experience with this, but I believe that you would be skipped since you're assigned to MELD, no?

Yeah I'm not sure. I guess it would make sense. I don't know if I'm gonna take it yet but if I do I will make sure I'm back b4 they reach the 600 mark.

It's gonna be awhile till the 600 mark, I say take it and spend time raising the kid(s).

I would definitely call MELD and ask them what the deal is. But as a mom and a Sgt., if you are able to, definitely take the leave if you can. Even for a few months. I wish I could've but it wasn't an option financially. Do it if you can. Congrats on making the list! :o)

do they consider it a break in service??? i know you obv have to make the time up before you retire. But if you get susppended,you have to work five years before being able to vest out,is it the same for pregnancy?

just call the meld desk. the sgt came into our bmoc and was really nice and she seemed that she would answer any questions over the phone.

The answer is in the patrol guide. You attend the promotion ceremony you would have been in, and go to bmoc when you get back. I'm 90% sure of that.
