I was perusing the 2011 Sgt Exam board, and "Semp1" attended their Protest Session last week. He and a few others spoke with a DCAS employee. Here is his post:
"I went to Brooklyn and it wasn't something they announced its something a few of us were told and I quote "we can't believe the show up today a little over 2000 sergeants took the Lieutenants test and hundreds applied for the protest. A little over 4000 police officers took the Sergeants test only 250 applied and only 33 showed up at this location." Take that for what it's worth but both women work for DCAS. They clearly know the numbers of people who took the test and who protested..." -- Edited by Semp1 on Thursday 17th of November 2011 01:28:47 AM
So, the point of my post is:
SHOW UP AND ACTUALLY PROTEST! Not just if you failed, but if you passed too! Don't deny yourself the ability to move up the list.

Good luck to all who are protesting over the next three days. Don't let this opportunity slip by; whether you need points to make the list, or need points to bolster your passing score.

594 Sgts have registered as off today 1600. I posted a thread to indicate the same.

I saw that. That's why I bumped my old post back up to the top. 594 is a great number. I truly hope at least half show up and make some articulate arguments.

That would be great to see an actual turn out in the 500's. Try calling 212-442-9188/9146

Is there another Sgt that didn't take the test, or has another protest date in your command that can take that detail for you? That would be the ideal situation. We need to try and help each other.

You need to call and fax your notification. They will change it for you after receiving notification.
