Wasn't this the question where you recommend to the CO who the new special ops Lt should be? I could be wrong, anyhow I chose the 2nd plt commander who used to be the special ops. Did this jog anyones memory?

I got c as well. I think they messed up in the packet. Anyone recall the FIO memo in the back of the packet? Was there a question on filling FIO? What I am thinking is that the FIO memo or vacancy poster should of read Special Ops and the requirements needed and they screwed up the packet.

No, that was a separate question. The special ops question you had to look at the personnel background memo in the beginning of the packet

I have no idea what Q4 was asking us but how were we expected to make a personnel decision given only 2-3 sentences of information? I remember that they gave us a biography of all the bosses that worked in the command but is that enough information to decide who is more qualified than someone else??
Apparently it is and I'm just a moron who never knew he can authorize admin O.T... A big "Thank You" to the exam writers and DCAS for enlightening me !!!

I got C for #4 also, it was a map question I think where they didn't give you a time when the chemical accident occurred. Which was unfair since there was a 1400 hour telephone record entry of a college function at one of the choices. You couldn't eliminate it without the question spelling out an exact time.

so how do we protest this questions (for those off us who also put C)- ?
okeedokee said

I went to protest. #4 was the mobilization from the leaking tanker truck. The correct answer was nemorin plaza for whatever reason (i.e. small parking lot). The large parking lot was incorrect.
Blocks were 750 feet across.
Have no idea why I got that wrong.
Even if they wanted 1,000 feet, I would argue that 2/3 of the large parking lot was fair game. Moreover, those 2/3 still provide more room for a potential level 2,3,4 than the small parking lot.
No date, time, anything was given for the question except that it happened on 2nd platoon, I think. I would argue that any other stuff about street fairs, whatever was irrelevant. There were several stand-alone questions on the in-basket. No date means no date.

I was at the protest today, #5 was in fact the ECB with the calendar question, after looking at it again, I think its a good one, cannot be protested. But #4 was mobilization point with a map, I also picked C and still after an hour just on that question today at the protest could change my mind to seeing their answer D as the best answer?

i protested this question also, cause even if their reasoning was that each block was 750 feet, the accident of the tanker truck was NOT an explosion or fire. So the min 1000 ft radius rule should not apply. plus you have the argument of a mobilization point being big enough for a level 3/4. i referred to 212-27 and 213-02

I protested it, but it was my last one and I admit my effort was half assed at best bc in baskets often incorporate several procedures within one question without telling you where to look. I didn't have the first clue to how many different sections to cite on that one (chemical spillage in 212 distance measurements, upwind requirements in some other sections, 213 5 minute rule to get to a location, 213 using a site that can accommodate a level 3 or 4), so I went with choice C is closer and meets proper distance requirements when each city block is 750 feet. I could have spent the whole protest looking up all sorts of different sections to prove my point. What I really wish is one of the exam writers was there to ask them, why is D better than C? Did I miss something in the packet?
Also the question was 2nd platoon, you know this based on the name of the Sgt in the question. There was no telephone record entry of a college fair street shutdown, but a CO memo dated on October 27th and the in basket took place on Nov 2nd. The street fair/shutdown was from 0700-1900, but that didn't effect choice C or D. So neither could be eliminated based on that memo. I needed an exam writer to explain what I missed to why D is better than C, but none had the courage to show their faces.
Of course if one of the exam writers was there, I would have control myself not to spit in his/her face first! Then after the spit dripped off their face, collect myself and calmly ask two things: What were you thinking? And why is D better than C in question 4?

I hope they were going for the 1000 foot radius. If it is, I can see where they misread the patrol guide.
2. Establish minimum "frozen areas" as follows: a. Outdoors - At least 300 feet from hazardous material source or spillage b. Indoors - Evacuate room in which material is located c. Explosion or fire: (1) Outdoors - at least 1000 feet in radius from explosive and at least 300 feet in radius from fire (2) Indoors - extend frozen area to include all areas or rooms where a person might be exposed to the material; include floors above and below the material (3) Tanker Truck or Military Shipment - extend frozen area to a least 1000 feet in radius.
They might have gone with tanker truck extend from 300 to 1000' not realizing that is only a sub of part c - explosion or fire. If it was only a spill the minimum is still 300 without fire/explosion.
