Granted, this test was different from any other the department has given, but what does everyone believe is off about the answer key? I guess you can break it down to three parts. The in-basket, the PG section and the grammar/management questions.
I don't see how the in-basket is going to be far off.
The management style questions only have 6 moderate/low answers out of 30.
The patrol guide section seems to be where the majority of the moderate/low answers are with 11 low confidence and 7 moderate out of around 50 questions.
I guess it's how you mark the low confidence questions. If it's between 2 answers and you have 1 of them, I think you can go with the law of averages and mark half of them correct.
Any thoughts?

yes, i think 67 or 68 started the non-pg stuff

I think the testwriters wanted A, for question 100 (supersecret project for the Mayor's Office where A involved authorizing unauthorized administrative OT). I also the suspect the ID theft question consensus answer differs from the proposed answer key answer. That's 2 I can think of.

im all for A on q. 100. although u cannot authorize admin OT in the PG it was the best choice of the 4.

I'm screwed either way, 15 wrong from 1-17 and 71-80. 17 wrong from 18-70 looking at a 68 counting doubles, so I'm praying the answer key is way off in my favor

I agree, A was the answer for 100 .It just went in line with what these test makers wanted.
This test was made by people who couldn't even pass it themselves. It read like a lifetime movie.
While I sat there taking this test, I threw out all concrete black and white patrol guide that I studied for 6 months.
They were going for the boss with "leadership skills/head on attitude/grab life by the balls/Holier than though LIKE A BOSS" approach.
This was all a PET PROJECT. Every generation thinks they're better than the next, so in this case they felt a better breed of boss would emerge from this exam.

Do we even have conformation yet on which obscure/out of date management book they are grading the judgement questions from? I know it has been said that the "answers" were all in that gem written in 1971 but we don't have that in writing. So, who knows how far off we are on those. For almost every question you could argue at least two correct answers. Kudos to the guys that took the time to put the keys together but I'm gonna wait the two weeks.

There in no "book". I picked up that Police Supervision Book by Ianoone, doesen't apply, that was just some rumor from a guy who used that book at John Jay or some bs criminal justice school.
It was a free fall all judgement question brain storming session by a bunch of know it alls that probably couldnt come up with 10 career collars between all of them.

Cathetel, I really hope you failed the test. You need more than a lucky Saturday to be a boss on this job. Its called leadership which by the looks of it you lack of. Thank g*d you only had to memorize the PG for the Sgt's test becuase if were tested on common sense, I would still see you on your foot post getting scratched by a FEMALE Sgt. You sound ignorant, and honestly you should admit that you watch Lifetime movies and posting on the blog are the only things you have going on in your life.

This test just simply can not measure common sense and judgement.

I compiled a bunch of answer keys the night of the exam and here's 5 questions we have in conflict with the spreadsheet, one of which they have listed as high confidence... High: Q61, We had D Moderate: Q50, We had A Low: Q4, We had C Q40, We had D Q64, We had D
Not saying the above answers are right so don't jump down my throat, but just goes to show that this test was so wacky, it will be impossible to get an accurate reading until the actual key comes out on the 28th.

In basket was off by two questions, patrol guide was off by 10 questions, the grammar math and reading comprehension off by 4 questions. Seems majority people getting patrol guide questions wrong. Three of the high probabilty questions on the spreadsheet one person picked the right answer on them ( Kudos to who picked D for 2, C for 15, and D for 42) Alot of people got fooled it appears on a few trick questions, including me. Two of you picked A for 21 and B for 28, I wish I just picked one of those answers. Question 100 was A, which I got wrong, put the debate to an end there on that one.
