The introduction states - studying for the NYPD lieutenant exam requires a unique approach. This exam is VERY SIMILAR to the content and layout of the sgts exam. An exam which you already passed. Remember you are responsible for LOWER ranking duties and responsibilities. WHAT A CROCK OF SH!T

RISINGSTAR WAS ON POINT WITH THEIR MATERIAL. THEY COVERED ALL ASPECTS OF THE EXAM TO INCLUDE MATH, GRAMMAR AND JUDGEMENT QUESTIONS. I REGRET NOT TAKING RISINGSTAR ANYMORE SERIOUS THAN THE OTHER SCHOOLS.:(

Yea but Rising Star in an independent company. It doesnt matter if they were on point. The NYPD has to provide us with that info.

The Academy material is one of the few nice things the job does for us and only started a few years ago. You can't blame the Academy or any of the schools because DCAS decided to gave the trickiest promotional test in history. Yes Rising Star did hit the judgement stuff, that was a response to the last Captain's test which was also disastrous and was more of a CYA. Nobody saw this crap coming. Rising Star might as well throw in some pointers on RMP repair, LAN management, and HVAC next time around, just in case DCAS wants to test us on even more duties irrelevant to a Lieutenant.

Yea unborn, how many questions in there were based solely on Lieutenant's duties? Possibly none, since they constantly combined other actors? I would have to think really hard to name any? Lieutenant was the rank we were shooting for right? But we were tested on district surgeon duties, Pct CO/XO duties, Sgt duties, really how many Lt specific questions were there? Maybe the court appearance rescheduling- OC? Thats about it. Shameful...

The first message in this discussion is the reaaon why this exam has a chance to get thrpwn out, if anyone thinks Otherwise they are wrong. The required reading material that was needed to properly prepare for the exam was not on the offial website. Thqt along with the fact that these questions are all open to debate makes it a hihhly skeptical exam.
