guys, there are trolls on these forums that love putting posts out here every time there is a test. They just want to see if they can shake some people up. This test will not be thrown out. Think of the amount of money and time that goes into making a test. Don't listen to the negative trolls.

Yea that test got thrown out because they heard people got the questions before the test. THe answer is going to be if you saw someone cheating you should have brought it to the attention of a Supv at the school. I hope it doesnt get thrown out. I think I passed even if I didnt. How much you want to bet the majority of people that claim people cheated are the ones that failed

Let me say this...If teh test does not get thrown out it will be marred with lawsuits for years to come. The cheating was there and I know I am not the only one who noticed that there were not enough supervisors on hand at this exam...You can blame the OWS protest for that. Too many people saw an opportunity to pull out their cellphones and access their patrol guides. ........THIS TEST WAS DOOMED FROM THE START.
I personally hope it does not get tossed because I used the latest key and i scored a 79.

a) they, the city, would have to have concrete evidence to do so. b) one rumor was there was a total of 14 people city wide exposed of cheating. That doesnt sound rampant to me, if there was rampant cheating would not a bunch more people been exposed c) i believe any concern of bathroom phone operators would likely be addressed at future exams. d) lastly, uniformed supervision was less because of OWS, but the exam is ultimately the responsibility of DCAS. So are they voting that they have no confidence in themselves. Could it happen yes, likely no.

Maybe you should read my link regarding the transit sgt test thrown out in 1991. There were only an alleged handful who cheated and according to the article, there wasn't concrete evidence. They threw the test out and gave another one the following year. I'm not saying this test will be trashed, but there is a possibility.
Duty chief so who are they gonna promote come January?..........

We'll have to wait and see what happens. Of course the dept wants to keep promotions going at a steady pace as people leave. But to think that the dept would be in some kind of peril because this test is thrown out is wrong. The dept will survive if there were no promotions until a new test is give, just like it did back in 1991.

I'll agree that it could happen, however the city found something. The article you quote states... "City officials familiar with the inquiry said the city investigators found evidence that the test had been compromised because at least three ranking officers had leaked test questions to a small study group of minority officers"
I am with everyone else. I hope they don't throw it out.

WRONG! The 1991 test was thrown out for a smaller number of cheaters so if this test was infiltrated by a substantial amount of cheaters then yes it will be thrown out. Even a few lawsuits can derail this one if indeed the cheating can be proven.
IAB is investigating as per a Sgt friend of mine drafted into IAB. This thing is growing legs. STAY TUNED!

I had to make an account and say that "Weekend Duty Chief" is such a Tool. You are so pathetic. I have a neighbor who works with WDC and he told me that this Tool sits in the locker room everyday with his head in his hands mumbling to himself trying to figure out where his life/career went wrong. How many Sgt tests have you failed WDC? 4? 5? Get a life you Tool

SAME SHI*, DIFFERENT TEST. ALWAYS A GROUP OF PEOPLE WHO CLAIM THAT "THE TEST IS GOING TO BE THROWN OUT" OR "THERE WILL BE LAWSUITS". THE TRUTH IS, IF YOU STUDIED HARD AND THOUGHT THERE WAS EVEN A CHANCE THAT YOU DID WELL, YOU WOULD NOT EVEN MENTION EITHER OF THE TWO. THE SAME PEOPLE THAT ARE TALKING THE NONSENSE ARE THE ONES WHO THINK THEY FAILED AND ARE HOPING FOR A THROW OUT SO THEY GET ANOTHER CHANCE.

I don't know if you're referring to me, but I did put a good effort in and I feel there is a fair chance I will make it. However with the word of widespread cheating and the fact that numerous people were shortchanged in the allotted time, there is a real possibility of the exam being thrown out and/or lawsuits. I mean, how hard is it to start the exam at the bell and end it at the bell? There are rumors with every exam, but this is confirmed. We are in a wait and see mode now. Also you guys are fools for comparing answers to these so called answer keys. They are never close to being right. Those alleged answer keys are the biggest rumors.

Umm weekend duty chief, I took and passed the 09 Sgt's test and the answer keys posted were spot on. However, I did hear that the 08 answers keys were off by 5-10 points. I guess it just depends on who is posting and if these ppl actually studied "hard". Look, the likely hood that this test will be thrown out is slim to none. Did ppl cheat, yes, im hearing a lot and shame on them but the sad truth is that the dept needs sgts. And, unless the amount of ppl cheating exceeds 14, this test wil be kept and the list will be established.

I have to say I was disappointed how easy it was for people to cheat, it's sad that people still test the waters... I was sitting next to two people in the auditorium prior to going to assigned rooms who both had phones one took the battery out and the other shut his Iphone off...I would never have even thought to bring it in, being that it CLEARLY said not to on the admission notice... Should I have said something? It's a double edged sword, Man, maybe I have too much faith in people, guess being from the West Coast does that to you! lol

The high volume of cheaters on this exam will not derail this exam(I am hoping) but the impending I.A.B investigation will delay the list for sure. Let us hope all those caught cheating do not decide to file lawsuits and then further complicate matters for this exam.

Tests are forever and if I.A.B goes down that route then these cheaters are toast. Something tells me that the rat squad will be conducting numerous G.O-15's in the coming days. You can bet the farm that they will have these guy's texts on hand for that interrogation.
