Did anyone take the test at the above location? The proctor started more than 40mins late and about 12-15 ppl were not able to finish the exam. if so, pls email, my friend thinks this delay might have caused his failure and is trying to start the lawsuit process. The more the better.

I'm definitely in. We need to get this test thrown out. This seems to have been a problem in several schools.

Yeah I was seat #4 that retard didnt even instruct us to read the booklets or how much time we had when the 2nd bell rang. And he also started interupting us to sign some stupid sheet what a moron. I was racing at the end thinking we had about 30 mins left when in fact it was a little more than an hour.

Im sorry about that guys, I started late as well. No one was more upset than I was about that. However I respectfully disagree. I busted my ass studying for this test and I honestly think i passed. Throwing it out would be ridiculous. If I can still pass and I started late then anyone could've passed that test. I'm sure you guys passed. Lets not jump the gun now,

Is getting a test thrown out completely even a possibility?
Has it ever been done before for NYPD or any other DCAS test?
That seems like it would stir up a world of **** if it were seriously talked about.

Yes a test has been thrown out. Transit Police sgt exam in the early 90's. Don't ever say it can't happen.

why did that get thrown out???
weekend duty chief said

The primary reason why that test was thrown out was because of cheating, but there was also a host of inconsistencys such as start times, test handeling procedures, etc in the various schools.
You got it brat. I realize rumors spread with each exam, however if cheating is found to have occurred, they have the option of throwing the exam out.

The key element to that was the bosses giving the questions to the cops. Unless someone is alleging that, why would they throw out a test for a few random sh!t heads cheating
weekend duty chief said

Well there were a few random sh!theads cheating on the 91 exam. Cheating is cheating. Does it really matter how it was done?

Read my post Im in the same boat and started late as well . My test site was on 15 street health n prof HS. You can email commissioner on the decas website with your concerns

Yes it matters how it's done. You can not prove someone is looking at their phone from"hear say" you can prove a Boss gave someone answers.

Honestly I'm sorry that happened but the test should stay as is., and will. Nothing is getting thrown out. People always cheat. Life is full of cheaters unless there is proof it will not get thrown out. Same thing with starting late. My friend started 40 mins late so his test site stayed 40 mins later. You should have told a supervisor in the halls that the proctor started late. Your friends own fault. Sorry though but in reality if he couldn't finish the test with 30-40 mins to go he probably wouldn't have or would have failed regardless.

Who said anything about throwing the test out? That will NEVER happen. However, something should be done in regards to late start times. I didn't take this test but if I started almost an hour late and couldn't finish due to the lack of intelligence of those idiot proctors, I would have gone edp.
Also, the proctor actually called dcas and made those poor guys just sit there until it was determined that extra time would not be given. We all know nothing will be done unless a bunch of ppl start some sort of law suit or something. Otherwise this will keep happening. The problem is that DCAS employs ppl that have no clue of what they are doing. Its almost like the equivalent to the ppl they hire for the elections detail, seems like every year they get stupider. :-/

IF YOU GUYS ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT 30 MINUTES OF TIME ON A 6 HOUR TEST, YOU ARE MAKING EXCUSES. YOU DID NOT STUDY HARD ENOUGH

JustWondering... There are many reasons as to why someone takes long taking a test. It doesn't automatically mean they didn't study hard enough so stop being a d*ck.

Yeah sure why not flood DCAS with lawsuits so you can get the test thrown out. DO you know how silly you sound? If anything you will get your wish when the test does get thrown out for all the cheating that was going on.

And how would this lawsuit work? So what if they started late? It's not as if the proctor told you stop forty minutes prior to the allotted time. Your friend knew going in he had 40 less minutes to work with and should have adjusted the time he works on each question accordingly. Besides, you do not need six hours to pass this, you shouldn't rush through it, but if it's taking you an inordinate amount of time to answer one question, you had more problems than just starting 40 min late

Well to be honest, everyone should have equal time, so if some people lost 30 minutes, then it is unfair. It does not matter if you think people didnt study hard enough. I am sure if you were one of those people who lost 30 minutes you would be throwing a fit. I am not sure what happened to the proctors because it certainly doesnt take 30 minutes to handout booklets. IT is a legit gripe. Some of you are forgetting that this is a civil service promotion exam. Should be equal playing field for all. I'll tell you if i lose 30-40 minutes on my LT exam I will be the first one complaining to DCAS.

Do you know how many people over the years studied hard and still don't pass these exams? It's not like school where you have straight forward questions and as long as you study hard you will do very well. People not given the appropriate allotted time is a BIG problem and since it seemed to effect a number of people it could have an effect on what happens with this test. Would they allow someone to go even 1 minute past the final bell but its ok the cheat people 30 minutes in the beginning.

Sorry buddy, not me. I took and passed the 07 sgts exam in less than six hours. If it is taking you an entire six hours to answer these questions you have a problem. And that's the problem with guys like nyc80, the first reaction is to cry and make a big deal about something that is not a big deal.

We can all just hope to be as smart as MN50. If you passed in 07, why are you even posting on this board?

I also passed the 07 test, which is known to be one of the hardest in the past decade. Do you want a prize because you finished early mn50 ? Who cares? It is about being fair. I never said i was whining about anything. RULES are the rules. If you are supposed to get 6 hours, then everyone should get 6 hours equally. Is it that hard to understand ? Apparently it is, so stfu and stop trying to start over an argument you already lost.

It's painful to read your post. Life isn't fair guy, and if you're telling me that a half hour cost you the test then chances are you weren't going to pass it with a full six. Hopefully nothing goes wrong for you test day, otherwise you'll be here like a whiny c-nt crying about everything be unfair and requesting the test be thrown out
