Does anyone know if they brought back residency points? The NOE says it will add residency points to passing grades. I know that they did away with them. Only thing that makes me think they may have brought them back is the FDNY website says they are giving residency points for the next test, and nypdrecruit.com says there is residency points. Being as these are all civil service tests can they offer the points for just entrance exams and not promotional, shouldnt it be the same for all the tests? Also maybe because there is such a push for minorities to score well for FDNY they brought it back and had to make available for all tests. Can anyone clarify? Brat on the air?

LOL..........I'm a go-to-person huh? :)
No, there are NO residency points. When they make the NOE they will take an old NOE and edit it to use. Someone obviosly made a mistake. I have found several errors on both the Sgt and Lt NOEs. Sorry, no residency points.

****. I deliberately saved my points not using them for the entrance exam so I could use them on a promotional exam. Much like in my pants, I coulda used an extra 2.5 on this test. Thing I dont understand is how can they offer it for entrance exams but not promotional, where and how did we lose this? Theres not much benefit to living in this city, throw me a frickin bone here. Gimme the 2.5 points promote me to lieu, so I can afford an overpriced house on long island with a inground pool and 15k a year in taxes. Is that too much to ask? and Brat yes you are the go to person, first time I seen your name was on the rant at least 7 years ago. I believe you said you worked in the academy then, Im assuming as a sgt., so I know you been around a while and you always have reliable info here. For some reason your name and unborn always stuck out on here as being ranters, and unborn has the same kunty, holier-than-thou attitude on both forums so I know its the same guy... no offense, just sayin.
