They posted the new Sergeants List for the 2009 Test, what does that mean for the 2008 List?

List is good for 4 years. Only 151 left on list.

The 2008 list came out when there were still names left on the 2007 list.
Why would they kill the 2008 exam of eligible sgts just to move onto the next list of eligible sgts? That makes no sense.

Although it was only done once in history, two lists can be active simultaneously.

Before everyone says thier going to get rid of the 08 by june. The 08 list will be done by in the July or Sept class. Then they'll start hiring off the 09. They only had 2 open together because the 07 list had a group of people without 5 years on yet.

The 2009 list has been posted but it's not active yet. They'll probably activate it when there is only a handful of names left on the 08 list.

They just made 2009 list public because they need to start sending people to that 2 day training 4-6 month before they'll get promoted. 2008 is not getting killed. J-man, holy crap, can you leave this site. Stop being an ass. I guess you don't get enough of negative attention in your new pct. Time to get a life and fix that hair loss problem.

Lists are finished for two reasons. They expire after four years or they are exhausted of all names.
The job doesnt kill lists because they 'want to.'
Most eligible lists last for up to four years. However, a list can be superseded by a new list after one year."
im not saying this is the case, i do concur the most likely scenario is that they want to notify eligbles for the new 2 day bmoc training BUT technically after a year the city can squash the list if it wants to.

While that is true, the job has never done that. Its not like one day, the head guy says, 'hmm, im tired of promoting guys from 2008. Lets squash that list and start on a fresh one!'
Not gonna happen.

It's funny how you try to make fun of me by describing yourself, joke-man. I know that you just upset that producers of jersey shore didn't let you play snooki on season 2.

No season two?? Thats because J-MAN played the role of snooki in season one and the producers were concerned that if he was punched in the mouth he'd fold like a cheap wallet again.
