I have heard the next two classes getting ready to retire are big ones, the one in October and the following class after. Does anyone know the exact number of these classes? I had heard the October class was around 3000 or so and the class after that around the same. If that's the case then that means by around next year there would be 6000 people eligible for retirement making room for promotion. If there is 6000 or so retirees I'm taking a guess that there's probably 500-1000 Sgts included in there and in my opinion means that they're going to have to move promotions along pretty quick to fill those empty spots. Obviously not everyone eligible for retirement will retire but I think it would definitely help to get things moving along. Any feedback or opinions feel free.....

People retiring are way down. Look at Lts for example. None of them are leaving.

I see your point Brooklyn, but Lt. is usually a safer position. I can see a good number of Sgt's leaving.

Either way the sheer fact by itself is a good thing. Now if the academy responds by hiring a recruit class of more than 150 we might be in business
