The score can be whatever DCAS wants it to be, there is no law. What are you new to the job? Compare the last entire Lt test, not the current list, the cutoff was 81 raw score. The 2003 Sgt's test, people with scores of 58 made the list, but only those with about a 67 or better got promoted.
Whatever DCAS says, goes. There are now laws in what the scoring cutoff will be or how many people get promoted, or even if you make the list, you do not necessarily get promoted. It all changes from test to test...

Are you referring to what is considered a passing grade (70) which can't be changed because it is in the exam announcement, or the fact that the job didn't promote anyone with less than an 81? Big difference there. Passing the test with a 70, then adding in seniority, medals, fitness incentive, etc. will get you a list number. It is then up to the job to go in order or that list for promotion. If they don't get to your list number, you are out of luck.

What I am saying there is no "law", its at the the whim of DCAS. If they say "passing" is 70, then passing is 70 for this exam. But if its a big list, that doesn't necessarily mean you get promoted. There are no laws for these tests really.
The only "law" which I believe to be true is the civil service law that an exam needs a list to be established for at least 1 year before it expires. Not sure if it is in fact a law, but it could be and have heard of it....

Nope, but the previous Lt's test, the raw score was set at 81 just to make the list, but as far as I know everyone got made, so I guess thats better than rotting on a list for years only to find out your 80 wasn't good enough...
