!) the deadly weapons question is a good one to protest.the answer is billy but the pg states its "billy club" so the answer is incomplete.not to mention that in the penal law it states that a chuka stick is a deadly weapon(a direct conflict from the pg)!!
2)i dont remember the specifics but the question that refers to Richmond is a protest question.the question never says richmond county NY.
3)the question of the umos losing his shield in orange county is a good protest question cuz it never says orange county NY!!.for all i know there talking bout CALI.we shouldnt have to determine what they mean.there suppose to be more clear about it on the test.
4)the question about the edp women sitting in a burned out car with a knife next to her has a duel answer.in the pg it say use protective shield.right after that it says deploy non-lethal devices.the question NEVER asks which action is done first!!there for both answers ARE CORRECT!!
5)and ofcourse question #3 with the typo.many ppl didnt recieve the hand out that corrects it so that should be an automatic throw out.
6)there was a question when u had to notify either the sick desk or counseling services on a midnight tour.ppl automatically thought that counseling services is closed on a midnight shift so call the sick desk.not so fast there.....the question never gives a time to notify counseling services/sick desk.for all we know u made the notification at 0700hrs when counseling services is open n its still a midnight tour...BAD QUESTION!!
well guys thats all i got for now.feel free to add to this list.fight the questions, get made n fuc* the city by building up your pention.GOOD LUCK GUYS!!

Any one want to help me out???? Got a 69 on the test and I didnt send in that damn form to protest questions...I have one imparticular that I want to protest....Its a stretch, but properly protested I think you can get it thrown out...It was the off duty employment question....Said which one of these jobs could the cop do and there was street vender in yonkers(correct choice) and there was locksmith in richmond county(the choice I picked) You can be a locksmith outside of NYC...And the long island jackass that i am didnt know that Richmond county was Staten Island...Now that answer didnt say Richmond county New York, and as far as I am aware you are aloud to have off duty employment in another state....There are 5 other Richmond Counties which would technically be outside NYC if you were to be a locksmith there....So if anyone can give that a shot if you are able to protest id appreciate it....

the richmond question was the off duty employment. choice C was street peddler in yonkers, choice D was locksmith in richmond. it did not state richmond county, and there is a richmond upstate new york. the pg states locksmith outside of nyc not outside of the residence counties or anything like that. PROTEST ITTTTTTTTTTTTT

It's all about Karma...BIG RED! and helping a brother out. I did well on the test and should be in the top third of the list. If for whatever reason I ended up with a 69 I would hope that my brother officers would rally to assist in some hopeful protest. In reality if a question is thrown out it means that it was written in error and should not have been on the test.

If I got any of the above questions wrong, I will certainly be protesting. But I do not understand protesting a question I got right. I hear many people say that they will, but have trouble believing it. Not only will I be giving away free points that I worked my ass off to get , if I help you pass that is another person who will be fighting me for the next Lt test which will be 2010ish. There is nothing to gain and some to lose. I already see guys playing the " help a fellow brother out" line, which I truly believe in when a fellow cop is in need of financial or emotional support, but with all due respect, you should have helped yourselves out by studying more. I know guys are going to jump all over me for this, but when thought about, protesting a question one got right truly makes zero sense.

Just because a question is protested that does not mean it will be thrown out. A protest agrument must founded in facts. Clearly there were some questions that were vague and a reasonable agrument can be established. There were questions that were straight up patrol guide questions, ground balls if you studied. I will not be protesting those questions. However, some questions were judgement call questions and we should take a closer look at those. Peolpe that are much smarter then I will be reviewing these protest agruments they will not throw out a question if your agrument is baseless. I still stand by my original premise and that is, if a question is thrown out, it will be because it was written in error and should not have been on the test.

Hi everyone,
I was one of the fortunate people who attend the protest on Feb. 28th.I saw about 35 people protesting on that date.
It was very difficult to review the test and follow the protest procedure, but I did my best.
The question numbers I protested were: 30, 46, 53, 64, 70, and 99.
I really dont recall which question # went with which question:
- the EDP in the burnt out car.
- the elderly missing female.
- the off-duty employment.
- the bereavement leave.
- the dereliction of duty.
- the election delay due to demonstration.
That is all the ones I could get in with the absurd paperwork you have to submit.I heard others protesting questions like:
- the sodomy charge
- the in basket questions referring to the handout
- the Universal summons on the Agg. Unlic. Op.
Honestly after reviewing the test with the Patrol Guide, the questions were straight up.Very tricky though, they would make sure one or two words were inserted in the body of the question that would make it tough to protest. And the ultimate kicker is that almost everyone question ended with: CHOOSE THE MOST CORRECT ANSWER.Meaning that even though the choice was not clear-cut, you have to choose which one of the 4 options is the best possible answer.
In response to Jagged J. :
No chance to protest, article 10 of PL says Billy. No mention of chukka stick.
Good one, was in my protest.
No chance, it said he lived in orange county but was assigned to 50pct.
Good one, was in my protest. 98% sure it will get tossed.
Good one, not one of mine but others in class fought it.
No chance it was on the 2nd pltn.
Any questions, please feel free to ask.
Good luck to all.

On the Last LT Exam the same Sodomy vs. Criminal Sexual Act issue came up. Most people protested it, unfortunately it was not thrown out. While the charge of Sodomy was thrown out of the PL it was still used in the PG and they did not throw it out. As far as loss of:
When a member of the service discovers the loss/theft of a firearm, shield or IDENTIFICATION CARD:
MEMBER OF THE SERVICE
1. Notify desk officer, precinct of occurrence, immediately.
NOTE: In Nassau or Suffolk counties, notify desk officer, 105th Precinct. In Westchester, Orange, Putnam or Rockland counties, notify desk officer, 50th Precinct. If loss/theft occurs in other than New York City or the residence counties, notify Operations Unit direct. In addition, the local police agency will be notified immediately and requested to transmit a FINEST notification to this Department.

also if your assigned to the 50 PCT you cannot possibly live in Orange County California or any other Orange County besides the one in NY. Tricky, yes. Protestable absolutely not. Also if the questions asked Choose the most correct or least correct that is the catch all for any mistakes they make in the questions. The answers therefore dont have to be 100% correct or in tune with the PG just more correct than any other option. They started doing this since the last Captains exam and since then no questions have been thrown out or doubled from any test. You would think if the dept really wanted people to make sgt pr make a good long list they would go a litttle easier on these tests but as in everything else the dept does not seem to care....

Protest Guy, I love ya, but you have to spell check and use puncuation, I sometimes have trouble reading your posts, which I am always interested in. In this post are you saying that the Sgt.'s notification on the 1st platoon question should have been to IAB? In 205-46 the counseling services unit is available for members experiencing difficulties with alcohol, pres.meds, gambling OR finances. Why would this boss need to notify IAB if his cop has a gambling problem?

What was the DCAS answer to the EDP in the car question?

Maybe your right bro. I should have protested it then b/c the i/o absolutely says under court section supervisor, the first thing you do is access the on-line prisoner arraignment system to obtain the location of the prisoner.

sorry nassau I use my palm for most of these post and don't pay attention to that stuff, but what I was saying is that on question # 82 it should be a double answer, but if U don't have one of those choices then another way to possibly get it thrown out would be to claim that its an iab notification because he is in debt due to the gambling problem and might easily be corrupted, I know its a stretch but what the heck its worth a shot.
