100% no doubt vacancies are peaking 150 with who knows how many terminals. It is approaching 200 at the very least combined.

Vacancies are definitely closer to 200 with terminals. If and when they start promoting the classes should be decent sizes.

hes referring to the dept attempting to adjust the headcount from 36k to 34k, but his #s still dont make total sense due to the fact that the reduction in headcount was supposed to slowly take place over a period of time and not immediately

I just don't understand with the amount of Lt's putting there papers in and that are on terminal, the amount by Aug 1 should be around or over 200 vaccines. How did you come up with only 61??? Units that got disbanded, those people were asked to pick a command and most if not all just retired. So don't know how your coming up with these totals.

Im not sure where the numbers regarding adjustments are coming from since the authorized headcount has not changed to this point. I believe it will be changing over time but as of now the October academy class was a not even cancelled.
As of 7/15:
Vacancies - 74
Terminal- 109

I only posted correct numbers. They obviously dont account for the change in authorized headcount which is still ongoing. The lowering of manpower by 2,000 doesnt occur overnight. It still wont ultimately lower the vacancy account significantly. Keep in mind the current plan is still to have an academy class starting in October.

That statement most likely is false. Vacancies in the Dept budget have nothing to do with vacancies available in the Dept based on assignments being filled in commands/details. Vacancies have to do with how many spots are slotted for the position by the budgeT. The number is set by the Dept at the beginning of each fiscal year, most of the time going unadjusted. That rumor I believe is most likely incorrect.

Correct There will absolutely be 200 Vacancies soon which will need to be filled. Those terminals become vacant in the rank which also means in the budget. The budget is still slotted for them for the 2021 fiscal year because they are still paying them. They will be promotable spots very soon. The head count being diminished in my opinion has much more to do with new hires. Less to do with supervisory ranks For the immediate time.

logically thinking it will be adjusted this time. Dont forget City Halls famous motto when it comes to us We can do more with less
moreover units are thrown on the chopping block, supervisors getting transferred decreasing shortages on patrol. Yes, we will have 200+ vacancies but dont expect 200+ new promotion not anytime soon

Supervisor ranks budgeted figures have to do with how many Officers there are. That number hasnt changed drastically and the budget for 2021 should not have either in regards to vacant spots for Sgt/LT/Capt. We shall see if this is true I assume in the very near future. Right now its just guess work.
