It's really not that much effort. As a matter of fact I would argue it's low effort. A point curve would follow a logarithmic formula. Where the rate of change is severely reduced based on how high the score is. We all know Stephen had trouble dropping logs. Regardless this curve is a slap in the face to all those who passed legitimately. It does nothing but hurt those on the current bottom. They have my condolences.

So much crying.
I was just curious if there is/are standards for how they curve? Im only aware of the conditions of the 2017 Sgt exam. I didnt need/want to know your personal feelings on the matter.
This is all i could find, i did some deep digging into the NYPD archives for this one.

I think DCAS uses a modified quadratic equation based off of some late work by Stephen Hawking

The email mentions that "the exam needs to be expedited", so mid-to-late March is looking very plausible

Yes that list coming out soon if thats the case. People in the 60s getting those emails, this list may be going over 3k. I hope people who scored low have a a lot of seniority points, a lot of people who failed going to be leap frogging legit passers unfortunately lol

Anyone know how long it took for the list to come out for the 2017 sgt exam after the military notifications were sent out?

I am still speechless at how long it has taken to release a list, when the exam was taken on a computer and a simple algorithm could have given us our scores instantaneously.

I've heard it was about 3-6 weeks after. Im not sure tho, I guess it depends how many people were notified.

The real question is on the 2017 SGT exam how soon after was the list established after military notifications.

Idk, I was told by bosses I know about 3-6 weeks so Im assuming they have a decent idea of when that might be.

thanks bro, that looks legit. If they need it by the 10th maybe we get something by the 24, The second day of the lt exam. I know it is personal info but did anyone with a failing grade receive this email?

I think it may be lower lol. My friend got a text message from another friend that a guy who scored 57 raw got an email from DCAS verifying his military pointsso Im assuming the list will be huge.

thats not shocking. In 2017 a 57 turned into 70.

my old partner missed it by a point, his 56 turned into a 69. It was basically 13 points being awarded. Call it what u want, curve throwout whatever. But it was basically 13 points added to the score you saw on protest session day.

Not even, its looking like high 50s will be passing too. a 57 will get you a 70 and then a 70 turns into a 76 with seniority, then you start adding extras lmao!!!

Thats not how a curve works FYI. The amount added is determined by the amount you got wrong. For the 2017 exam, you received 0.231 points back for every question you got wrong, after throwouts/double answers.
While someone with a 57 might get 13 points, the same wont apply to someone with a 75 raw.
Although anything is possible with DCAS, so take that with a grain of salt.

57.. that sounds crazy. Id thats true, this list is easily reaching 4K. I would be shocked if that gets there. My guess is 2800-3200.

yes, of course the higher you scored the less you get back from a curb system, but I was specifically referring to my partner who got a 56 and ended with a 69.

This job is really lowering the standards promoting people who basically showed up to take the test without any of the work. Damn shame but the worst part those on the list above 2k will be frozen in place for 4 years knowing they are not making it and that no unit will take them.

no everyone should receive a letter pass or fail. that letter will give you your final score. I was looking for mine but I cannot find it. Then again maybe this time around it might just be an official email.
