sgt2be can you cite examples of when the DCAS went against the tvb recommendations? Also guys, we all took this test there are glaring examples of improper questions. Zero throw outs would be impossible for anyone with half a brain. Everyone knows the buzz is this was a flawed test. With the tests involving zero changes there was no controversy, no mass protests, and most importantly, no TVB submitting 19 changes....
I agree, the 2011 Sergeant Exam only had one or two changes because it didn't look like it was written by a retarded robot. I keep hearing "zero changes" and "minimal changes" from a lot of different places, but it still seems hard to imagine. Of the four I protested I'll admit I was reaching a bit on two, but the other two were hands down, 100% wrong. Also I didn't protest 106 and that has to be a throwout.

There are people on this forum who DEF KNOW PEOPLE. I've been able to get the latest "info" from them via messages and I appreciate them passing along what they heard. But today after hearing it may be 5 changes and 20 min later being told by the same guy that it may look like 0-1 change...just shows how although people are trying to get intel, were always getting bunk.
I NEVER doubt the intentions of the people looking to pass along what they heard. I know they're trying to be good sports in helping people get the latest rumors...but no really knows.
If it's 0-1 change...lets get the mercy killings over with. The people who passed, I tip my cap to you. For the people who failed like me...just put 2 in our head already. Enough is enough

As I said, u won't get a thing until at least 2/17. Dcas does not have to comply w that request either. They can say they need more time. At the end of the day we know 208 people right this minute passed. What the outcome will be is anyone's guess. Who knows at this point. I don't know anyone in tvb but have heard 19 changes were submitted and am guessing 7-10 changes. Will that hold? Maybe not. Will it be 200 person list? Maybe. Look for an exam fall of 2017 if that's case. Get away from this site until close to the 17th. No one has anything I ve asked everyone in the palace in the know.

No one knows anything concrete. There may be a small circle of people sworn to secrecy other then that no one knows. I've spoken to someone that sat on a previous board and I asked him how whats the process. I was told the board must consist of two mos from dept and a dcas rep. Dcas rep pretty much says see ya call me if you need me. every single protest must be answered out either rejecting it or approving it. It's pretty much up to the dept guys what changes if any are submitted. I know things can change and it very well may have with this test but he told me that dcas goes along with what the board recommends for the most part. We can go back and forth all day but I feel what good is having a board if dcas is going to reject all its recommemdations. You mightiest well just scrap the board and have dcas handle everything if that's the case. I understand all other points being made here . if it is indeed 19 changes submitted, which I don't have confirmation on that info like I do with numbers of list. then I would say at LEAST 7-9-- possibly more changes. that's my take on it. the exam was poorly written and some things so subjectively asked it leaves them open to protest. 106 and 1 are tosses--and I got both right of course. not trying to will anything. if its not 7-9 its not 7-9. but we don't know how this carnival is gonna end at ALL. don't be surprised by a list of 400-500 or a list of 200 something. so lets take a break and when its closer to 17th I might have something more about this release----till then we have absolutely nothing.

That might not be a fair comparison. 2006 had the 70 rule from the start but the 4 yr stretch came down about a month or so before the exam date. Believe it or not, a lot of people immediately abandoned studying when it did. Of course, many were already so invested in the game they kept going.
2007 was a different story. It was the first Sgt's exam with the stretch in full-effect during the registration period. It absolutely destroyed motivation for anyone with time on to study. I have no idea what the registration numbers were but I am certain they were low. It was the combo of the 70 rule and the 4-yr stretch that led to small lists and annual exams. It had nothing to do with the tests' relative difficulty, throwouts or lack thereof.
The numbers recovered in time as the stretch became all most people taking the test ever knew.

You can't compare this exam to any other in recent history. This latest exam has he LOWEST pass rate in recent history. 2601 takers and 128 passed. FACT. So u can't compare even the last debacle to this. Or any other exam. This pass rate surpassed all those in degree of passers so compare all u want. The release of this list and changes won't be effected by guesstimating. This is in a league of its own. All I know is dcas and the job crapped last time when 241 out of 1676 passed. And guess what---661 out of 1776 wound up passing that exam. FACT. So dispel any rumors, opinions, or guesses. We ll see hopefully soon. I would bank on changes

It's not just about rumors. It's logical to use past exams as a comparison. Whereas past exams were short it may have nothing to do with difficulty. It may be because it was held right after 9/11, or the subsequent OT bubble following, or the 70 rule, or the 4yr stretch. There are numerous potential factors. It is equally dangerous to conclude this exam will have a lot of changes just because 2011 did. Trying to handicap it is a fool's game. We may as well be trying to read tea leaves or communicate with the dead.
