Thanks Brat for always keeping us informed . It would be great if they let us go to the range especially when once we are promoted we have to go to the range on one of our RDOs.

The new system is up and running already. Some people are still usuing the old one though, not sure how long before they trash the old system.

Don't think the old sprint is bad, when I tried the new sprint portal, it was slow, response time is 3 seconds, not like the old sprint, almost 0 response time

Hahahahahaha the people on this job are funny. The old sprint is so f-ing old it's embarrassing any department outside a third world nation would use it.

If they do that the retard who decides it was a good idea should come in and tell us and should be liable if anything happens. I can see it now, someone is "shadowing" the 75 patrol Supv they respond to a shots fired and bam! You thought you were getting promoted and now ur not cause u were Involved in a shooting. And anyone who says that can't happen is very disconnected from a police work. Nothing good will come out of sending us out as cops to independent commands

Plus. They r going to have to send me back to bmoc for a month because I'm all juiced up into boss mode. They send me back as a cop now I will lose all that motivation. I also have chevrons on all my shirts now !!!!!

This is a very strange idea. Why not test out some new BMOC training? They mentioned that they always are working on new training ideas. This is the perfect chance to test them. I feel bad for you guys.

As long as its not more of that boring CIMS and disorder control training. Talk about brutal and waste of time. Like your actually gonna have time to remember what you learned and put it into practice when the sh*t hits the fan.

In light of recent events, what about some active shooter training.

I think going out as a cop is a great idea...you can ask questions without looking completely lost. A major problem that new sgts were having was that they were thrown into the fire without any guidance and left to "figure it out".
Going to a random command as a cop gives you an edge because you can learn the desk and still have the benefit of hierarchical guidance.
The transition from police officer to Sgt is a tough one and any hands on experience you can gain should always be looked at as positive.

Ask for ALERRT Training (Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training) at your Commands, its 2 day RDO 8:30 OT (Regardless of Rank) for Active Shooters. You use Simunition Rounds and its more Advanced than In-Tac as well as Different Topics and Simulations.

I did it while I was in Narco. Its great training. Im surprised they havn't offered it to all UMOS. If you can get it definetly jump on it .

Its not a bad idea in a way. As long as they don't send you to your old command. If you got sent back to your old command I can see guys getting messed with even if BMOC told the command to only utilize us to work with the D.O. or the Patrol Supervisor.

Dude ur crazy!!! No way this is good in any way. Going out on patrol is probably the worst idea. I don't see how that can be beneficial in any way. Also doing the desk or even patrol is different in every command.

Jul 23, 2012
Quagmire in theory I agree but that's in theory. Every borough/command is different. If sent back to old commands they'll be pushing A/B/C with a 1100 meal or what I would most likely do- Drop a 28. I think the laziness of those in charge will trump all to not reassign us for 4 days, back to UPTU for one day then reassigned once again inside of 5 tours.
Knight3100 said
Jul 23, 2012
I can't see it happening either. To much Work involved in temp assigning people for only 4 days. Has it happened yes, but that would mean assigning us from BMOC to a training pct back to BMOC for promotion then to the new assigned command. But with this Job God only knows what there planning

If Sgts are being thrown into the fire with no help from their fellow Sgts than we all know they are not going to get any help as cop who is a couple of days from getting promoted.

Knight- Nothing official at all. A range day whether Fri or next Mon was mentioned but admittedly are all "ideas" and it was clear that the decision on week 5 rest with those higher up. The idea to reassign us for three tours (Tues-Thurs) prior to reassigning us for graduation prior to reassigning us for Mon Aug 6th was discussed. Wait did that all make sense? Maybe in the Puzzle Palace??? Odds one of us gets jammed up via a job / shooting / aquisation / lawsuit inside of that 3 days???
