In my opinion, this test was tough but not the the absolute disaster that some make it out to be....I got a 69 and failed mostly because of time management. That being said, I dont believe there will be zero changes. A low number like 3 to 5 is most likely though.
I respect your beliefa but in the words of capt. Sullenberger, 'BRACE FOR IMPACT!'
oh man..just crush my hopes....lol
The secrecy behind the TVB is weird but based on the rumors it doesn't sounds good. I protested a bunch of questions and ive read great arguments nevertheless several people are saying 0. It could be bull**** like alot of the other rumors, but......
All you need to know is TVB submitted 19 for changes, and DCAS doesn't stray too far from tvb...

Nothing will come of devil dog s vet verification meeting w dcas. NOTHING. He passed the exam and that's that. These are the lowest of dcas minions folks---they know nothing. NOTHING. The request is in for 2/17. That is a fact. Believe it, don't believe it, criticize it, whatever. Doesn't matter at this point to me what half of u believe. That's when request is in and hopefully will be delivered. Yes. The rumors. 276--staying 208----350----400s----on and on. They be changed and changed. No one knows. The school guys are saying small list with LT exam next year----that d work out great for them. After all---this is how they make $, by you taking the class---again. In the end-----no one knows with this exam. Strange but true. 19 changes were indeed submitted and what will stick is anyone's guess. But it was flawed. And the job wants a list. We ll see soon.

Yeah sorry Skiguy as Ondeeair states, Devil's questions will be as effective as any of us picking up the phone and calling DCAS ourselves, no new knowledge will come out of it.
Also, if by now we don't know anything, Ondeeair assessment is the most we'll get for the remainder of the day.

Someone made a comment that dcas usually goes along w the tvb....THIS IS FURTHEST FROM THE TRUTH. in reality...it should read..some tvb get exactly what they want..some get few. I can't say it anymore...with dcas we just don't know. There are very specific reasons why I have said low changes..like anything I'm just a human and I've been wrong before

Sgt2be is right---it could be low changes it could be high. No one knows the reasoning. One thing that is apparent is that their in no rush to get the exam to us----NONE. The person I talked to is involved in this and said exactly that. That is also how I know 2/17 request date. Bottom line is dcas could care less about getting this exam out----really guys. The only thing working for us is the city cares about leaving themselves open to lawsuits and this exam w out changes does that. If u think lawsuits don't get people on lists think again happened quite a few times folks. Wake up this is NYC nothing is on level.
DETSGT said
Feb 1, 2016
Dude dcas doesn't care about lawsuits or throwouts. Their not gonna be intimated by emails or threats of lawsuits. They will release the list when they want with the amount of throwouts they want. When the list is released those that passed will be happy no matter their list number. Those that failed will be intially upset but will get over it and begin anticipating the next exam. Children will be born, lieutenants will be promoted, life will go on.

Anyways, I spoke to someone who contrary to what's posted on this forum informed me capt V was hand picked to write test. This stems from the accolades he earned after writing the 2010 captains exam. Capt V was very proud to have 0 throwouts prompting the city to curve the test. This person, who btw was involved in that tvb is the 3rd person who told me he expects no throwouts.

This delay might be the process of curving which involves the brass at the highest level and therefore leaving everyone else in the dark.

I remember Mifsud saying he wrote a Captains Test with zero throwouts. He then said at the review that the he wrote a test with the guy in charge of our test. Not that my opinion means anything but I definitely think WISECOP is on the money with his intel.

Its all speculation, the point is that historically this ******* thrives on writing airtight test. If there are throwouts 1-5 might be the number.

I spoke to the Devil dog. He'll probably post later but he was a little busy. He wasn't able to find out much except that he is the only one that was called down to claim Vet points. This is leading me to think that there is one or zero changes. They wanted him to come in person and not deal with snail mail.

if you see a 200 or so person list youll see an exam announced very very soon. Captain promotions are slowing....so yes a 35 person class will go in for lt first..but it will not be the norm...youll prob see 15 person classes again bc captains are so overfilled

Yeah, if they're going to drag their feet with getting the list out like they did this time they wouldn't have an actual list until 2018 even if they announced the test in the next few months.

sgt2be can you cite examples of when the DCAS went against the tvb recommendations? Also guys, we all took this test there are glaring examples of improper questions. Zero throw outs would be impossible for anyone with half a brain. Everyone knows the buzz is this was a flawed test. With the tests involving zero changes there was no controversy, no mass protests, and most importantly, no TVB submitting 19 changes....
