Good morning boss, I was wondering if It would be too much asking for ur help posting "sticky".. the #s of retirements and vacancies for the rank of Sergeant every now and then. It would really help a lot of us to clarify and know what to expect on following months... hundreds of cops will be grateful with any info that u may contribute... Thanks and be safe.

Good evening everyone, I am opening this new thread hoping (STICKY) that anyone from the LT forum can help us out every now and then and keep us updated on the current #s of people retiring and going on terminal leave... Hopefully this will help us out to determine, make an educated and informed guess on what will the future weeks, months will have for us. This should help hundreds of cops out there waiting to be made.
P.S. Lets kčep this thread for informational purposes only and refrain ourselfs from:
-starting or entertaining any trolls about this list getting axed.
-Getting into disputes of "based on statistics and previous tests, I think this will happen".
I can honestly say to anyone from the LT forum with any information pertaining to Sergeant's retirements and terminal leave that this cop and hundreds of others will be more than grateful with any information being shared with us.

Thanks jook. That october number keeps getting better and better. Throw in a captain promotion and we could be looking at either 2 more classes before years end or one large class in December. Unborn, please update the list when you get a chance

Good morning and congrats again to those getting promoted today!
Today we are at -26 and 49. By the 5th of October, we should be at 0 and -10, barring any changes. As of now, we have 19 going out in October and 11 more in November. Hopefully we'll have a couple more Captains classes by the end of the year to clear some more spots. Anyone with any info on that?

Jook, forgive me for not following. But if we are currently at -26 and 49, with 26 getting promoted today, why will we be at 0 and -10 by october 5? If 19 are going out in october, wouldnt there still be 30 on terminal?

Jook, would it be possible to post the Captain vacancies/terminal numbers every now and then? That may give us a better idea of when there is going to be a LT class or how big the LT class is going to be
Jooky said

I tried to do it before, but someone said that captains don't have a set number, so we really can't depend on that to estimate class sizes.

Are these waves of retirements only a temporary thing and come next year it will go back to the average #'s leaving and the list slowing back down to normal? Or are there big classes from 1994 or whatever set to retire next year also and this will be the norm now from here on out??

Starting in 94 there were large classes every 6 month up until about 2000 or so. These were the safe city safe street classes. My class in 98 started at 1700 and then they added 2500 2 months later.

Sept 24-1
Sept 27-3
