The whole list has been notified for Phase1, now its just a waiting game

Overheard two cops at the funeral who were talking about the sgt list and promotions in general state that the city HAS to have an active list. Is this true? Just wondering how it will affect the last couple hundred on the present list. If they put in two classes back to back starting Jan to kill the present list I can't see them establishing a new list off the last exam so quickly. Just wondering if this means they will put in smaller bmoc classes to drag the present list out till they establish the new list.

At Phase 1 they said 2 separate classes to finish it out, they might wait longer to promote the 2nd group to give them time to start the next list.

Slappy I think tour fairly new to this, if the job has openings they will fill the spots. It makes no sense to have availablity, but hold off on promoting the remainder because there is not an active list. Seriously if there are 80 openings and 50 left on the list the job is not gonna hold off for the 2011 list. Too much I overheard nonsense, this board is dead

I agree that they will fill the spots. If they really need more sgts than they will get the highest scored from the new list before it will even get posted. My previous Sgt got promoted before his list even came out- it might have been the 2008 test.

Yes they promoted off the 2008 list while the 2007 list was still active. I think February will finish off the 2009 list and the new list will begin in march. Congratulations to everyone getting promoted in January. For the rest of us lets keep the faith that they will have a February class!! Stay safe and out of trouble!!

so whats going to happen if they finish this list in Feb or March and the 2011 list didnt come out yet???? They will just start promoting off the top of the 2011 list without it out?

I hear u brat but with the protest sessions (don't know if they've even had any yet) and deciding what questions get thrown out can't see them them coming out with the final list by Feb or March. But who knows my only frame of reference is being on this list for 3 years!! lol
Maybe they'll keep the list alive by keeping the pass overs on it.

just spoke with 2 seperate people 60 for monday , finest will drop either tomorrow or thursday, but the number i was told was a definative 60.

It's traditionally come down around 5/6 on Wednesdays, or noon Thursday.

Last like 5 classes - Finest has come down on either a Wed. or Thurs. around 10am ish.

At Phase 1 they said it would be coming down today. Of course everyone knows that with the is job things change at any time but let's hope they knew what they were talking about.

The phase 1 I was at they said "either wednesday or Thursday"

I went to the first phase I, they clearly stated that if a January class, the finest would come down "wednesday the 28th."

Someone check the finest...I just got a call from HQ to return my Dept phone...!

I also attended Phase 1 and I also heard the Sgt say that we would likely be notifed by the 28th. I think this is likely because the notifications are going to start going out for the New Years detail, and the commands will need to know who can be assigned to the detail. Can't see the dept waiting until tomorrow. Hope I am right.
