With all this going on I cant imagine them planning a promotion. Like everything, life will go back to normal though.

Its no big deal. Things will return to normal soon enough. Simple answer is this. The vacancies are mounting. They are absolutely over 100 right now with out me even trying to find out. They need to fill all those vacancies eventually.

Semp we dont know what will happen. Normally your post if we will return to normal would be true. However if you look at the reduced headcount for nypd, if it goes through, these are simply not normal times. Its safe to assume promotions will be effected by a reduction of size of nypd. How much is anyones guess

There is no talk about reduced overall headcount in the nypd. The academy is still slated to enter in July and is a GO as of today with an approx. 1200 entering. This will fill up ranks that left and retired for time being and will keep a promotion headed forward for the lists. The only mystery is to understand what the shuffle will be come budget time in regards to what units exist and which are extinct.

Not looking good they just got rid of crime I heard SOL is next this list is going to die quick lucky if it gets to 750.

Doesn't the SOL look over other precinct units besides anti-crime?? It can go either way.

Lol, you make some baseless comments. So according to you if one lieutenant in every command (SOL) goes back to patrol the list will not go past 750. So vacancies no longer mean anything? you are entertaining as hell. Keep it up!

I see narco is still being narco. From my sources a reduction in the authorized headcount is a legit concern. Couple that with budget cuts, my prediction of only 1,000 getting made is starting to pan out. You guys can thank me later.

No LT promotions or SGts from what Im hearing. The 50 SGts getting promoted June 26 was the class that went in at the end of last month. Unknown about a PA class.

Thats what i guess im asking. Since there is promotions for the 50 cops that went to bmoc on the 1st of June, are there going to be any promotions other than SGTs on the 26? Or is it going to just be the 50 SGTs?

And now the SGT forum is saying theres going to be a class of 50 ish sgts in july...

Unfortunately I have no further info... I was told that theres a class going in soon with a very reliable source. As for when and how many, at this point, its still up in the air. Would like to think the 26th promotion date would make the most sense but as we all learned from the past, nothing seems to make sense with this department. If the 26th isnt the date, one would assume towards the end of July as it is the beginning of the new fiscal year. At least with a July date, the amount of promotees should be higher.

I hope your wrong Narco, but i have to ask is that your educated guess? I dont think it will stop there. I believe, if they cut all overtime, many people are leaving. Also with the current environment, many dont wanna deal with and just leave with knowing they have there pension safe and sound. If emails go out Tuesday, Great!

Anything short of a class of 50 is a major disappointment. I wish someone had an accurate number for vacancies/terminal numbers because according to the finest there are literally 2-3 Lieutenants appearing at the pension section daily.

2-4 daily! its nuts.. Only issue is it counts towards terminal so they may not see it as immediate vacancies

I just heard that promos date has changed to 6/25, and there are 75 promotees. 50 of which are cops getting made to sgt, and dont know what the other 25 are. Word is there are no LTs being made. But i dont know how accurate it is just yet. Lots of stuff is heard from a guy who heard it from another guy.
