As of October 2, there are 157 sergeant vacancies (which includes allotment for SSA/SDS), and an additional 38 on terminal leave. You can accredit the increase to the last LT promos.

Awesome news. Keep this up, I understand vacancies are not always indicative of how big classes will be, but it provides a good idea. Ive been watching these forums for years and it hasnt been too many times ive seen vacancies push deep into the 100's.

Another guy who failed the Math question. 1st quarter of 2020 is basically just over 1 year from now, you think they'd hire over 1200 or anywhere near 1,000 in 2019 ?
Absolutely not.
I wish they would, just not happening. Maybe you meant 1st quarter of 2021 ?

I would think we would be in the 200 range of vacancies by now because we have 75 pre-bmoc now. These are low numbers.

with a number like 180, i'd think things would actually speed up...i could see another 75 or more going into the next class...(purely conjecture)

Figure once the current class gets promoted at the end of the month, it's down to ~100, and if the next class is big then there's not much hope of big classes afterunless Capt and Lts classes get put in as well. Pure speculation, of course.

If there is a class where is the mentoring emails? In essence mentoring would have to start on the 17th

I said approx 2,000k when the list first dropped. You rookies need to begin to give credit where credit is due. I wasn't trying to be a hater, I was just speaking the true based on recent attrition levels. Its not rocket science...even urinalfly is beginning to figure it out.

The staffing allotment may dictate we have room, which we clearly do, but it doesn't mean the $$ is there. That's usually cause for the discrepancy.
