Nowadays throwouts arent even relevant. Its more about how big the job wants a list to be and they curve it accordingly. From what im seeing so far the pass rate is low on this one. My command has 0 passers and half took the exam today (day 1). Insane.

Easy doctor. No one is giving up any details of the exam. Merely saying it was hard, tricky, fair, unfair etc. Is whats expected my friend.
Pretty sure theyll curve or drop question just how they did with the sgt and Capt exam

We dont know yet if the sgt exam will be curved. Very little info is known about it at this point

Because having experience at being a supervisor means nothing ? Its very unfortunate how some people get promoted from inside gigs or have low experience and really have no clue how precinct operations work on a day to day basis and refuse to adapt.
Agree, its messing everything up tbh. These curves are literally the worst thing the job has done with the promotional exams. These higher ups benefited from taking exams often and moving up the ranks swiftly. Failing an exam back in the day wasnt as catastrophic as it is now. These exams dont come 1-3 years anymore smh.
I understand your point and its a valid one. But these guys before us were able to benefit from those swift promotions, hence making them more money through out their careers. This is a job at the end of the day, some of us want to make the most out of our career. I feel like those opportunities have been taken away from us.
Those people never stay on patrol long anyway and make it back to their house mouse gigs. Whats pissing me off the most is only having 3 chances in my career to take the promotional test. I put in 2 hours every day for 6 months but I guess the pressure got to me on the test day.
The job cant handle yearly exams anymore as theres not enough personnel. My command had to hold like six cops a tour on overtime for the last Sgts exam. The job wants a four year list.
2 hours a day is good for the beginning and middle. 2 hours a day is not enough in the final stretch. The exams get exponentially harder as you go up in rank. The sgts and lts exams are pretty much jokes compared to the capts exam.
thats why you have to make the most of these chances.. I lived, breathed, and tasted the patrol guide every free minute I had and Im on patrol and I have two kids ... hard work does pay off.. these tests you have to really put in the time and understand the guide

Youre right, honestly a small list will benefit everyone in general. Think about it, everyone on the list will get made quick and the next exam will be in 1-2 years as opposed to 4-5 year.
What are the chances of making the list with a 66?
I think after throwaways 65+ will be good. But wtf do i know.

I have no desire to be a captain. 2 hours is all the productive time my brain can take studying this dry material thats useless off the job. I know all the important procedures but pardon me if I didnt memorize colors of licenses.

These exams have been riddled with poorly worded questions and/or double answers.
all you Need is 1 person to make a Valid Argument identifiable on the PG and site the real answer or reason why its a poorly worded question and EVERYONE gets the point.

no one will do it for you. You are still in the battle. Dont give up. find an exam in the recent years that did NOT have 3-9 protested successful questions which added several points to ALL exams.

Well you just explained why you didnt pass. No one likes reading this material. But 2 hours is not enough to pass.
The job will curve this exam to get 1000 people on it or however many they want.
You didnt need the memorize the color of you knew the other part but yeah 2 hours a day is definitely not enough, nor if you just studied the packets..
Even if I did double the work I still would not have passed because packets alone did not cover some of the test. In basket would have been great since I do great on that.
Great idea. Start it tomorrow after everyone has a chance to take this exam.
I don't think thats a good idea as of yet. We should wait for military and make ups to take the exam.

Possible chance you get to study. Hence how some people can put in 10 hours a day, cause they go sick or are MIA when full duty. Unfortunate but that's how it is.
I mean I just studied mikes packets and got an 85 on the sgt test. Every pg and ag procedure tested was in there somewhere. only thing that caught be off guard were the penal law questions
What about LT exam? Sgt exam was easier and I did way less work got high 70s
Yeah, you cant get away with that studying for lieutenant or captain or prob any test now a days
