Protest sessions are officially over. Fact. The list is in 220s its not a secret. Passing rate was terrible.
Thats greater than 1 in 4. Doesnt sound so bad to me.
Thanks for sharing the info. Im hearing list barely went over 200 and its a bottom heavy list (most are in the 70-74 range). Yes its not a bad ratio. You guys should be proud of yourselves. Im hearing it was by far the most DIFFICULT Captains exam in NYPD history. You guys/gals are the future. Keep up the good work and keep it in your pants!

I heard the same. A few of my buddies protested that one and the board DID NOT throw it out. Only 2 got thrown out and 1 double. Hearing the job wants to put out another exam in the near future (anticipation of mass retirements).

The protest sessions did conclude on Oct 13th. I'm just not quite sure that the board reviewed all the questions in 2 weeks, which was when the protest concluded. Again don't rely on what I'm saying. It's all speculation. Trying to make sense of the process that's all.
Brother, we discussed this already. Ask around ,..queens barely had 7 people protest on AM and PM. Brooklyn barely had 10. Same for the other boros. Think about this, exam was very tight so I dont see many questions being protested. I can see the board going through this in a few weeks. Its not rocket science sir.

If you carefully read my comments, you would understand that I was simply trying to understand the protest process. Go back and look up speculation. Reading comprehension will take you a long way. I'm also not a bro! If you care to find out who I am, look me up on instagram. I use the same exact name there. No need to hide behind a curtain.

Hopefully they fix the travesty of the test writer roulette. Thats really what its become. They had another Vucinaj on this exam who hatched a plot to go to obscure procedures or pick very obscure questions from a procedure and screwed people. Bottom line. It wasnt testing knowledge. I would guess exam in another 3 years--but for a lot of guys they ll never take again.

So if the list is around 220-ish, I could see this list expiring in around 3 years with the amount of Captain vacancies we have. Just speculation of course, but looks like the top 100 on the list should have a shot at promotion next year. This is taking into account passovers for disciplinary reasons, education, and not enough time in rank etc.

Yeah. its bad. Hearing theyre not happy with outcome. If list is barely touching 200 with throwouts/double answers ..then whats the point? not saying that heads will roll over this but come on. This is a process (recruiting to write exams, getting people to write exams, the board, etc.).

I blame the job itself for not having a good pass rate. Test writers used to get 6 months to write an exam and a path to get to where they wanted after the exam was written. From my understanding these guys/gals were only given 6 WEEKS, how can you expect a good exam to be written?!? The outcome is only as good as the investment you make and the job/city did not care enough to give these test writers the opportunity to write a good exam. Rush, rush, rush equals the situation we're in now.

The average captain promotions yearly is 50. Been more lately. So a 200 person list will equate to 3 to 4 years. Heads will roll lol alittle dramatic. The original passing rate was between 200 and 210. I do know the exact number but will not publicly post it. If the changes are what you guys say then Id expect it to go up slightly.

Lots of comments about 6 months to write questions, pass rate etc.
The Most Important Factor of all Factors is the OFFICIAL NOTICE of an upcoming exam.
The Department needs to do something about an official 4 month notice on the hardest promotional exam, which was done on this last exam.
The Promotional Schools wanted Future Captains to Study SERGEANT Materials because they were unprepared in 1/2022
but DCAS sets the rules im tired of hearing that $Hit too.
whoever it is, however its done, 6-8 months OFFICIAL NOTICE - making a payment - and allowing the schools to prepare for students is what needs to be done.
its not like this department prepares its leaders on their own. They dont do anything for promotional exams to prepare.
go Print out from the 124 Room 2,000 pages Per Student is not an acceptable answer.
they need to make the Job PG as up to date as possible AND accessible for its officers AT HOME. Not the NYC websites outdated PG.
pushing back exams 6 months and not giving a cut off date is absolutely BS too.
the day you pay for the exam, is the day the cut off date should be. Everyone plays all these incompetent games.
we have crime to worry about but there also has to be an emphasis on these promotional EScams.

But still curious about this Exam box on the dashboard.
With the makeup test just having been completed on the 7th how could the protest review be over already? Do they not get a chance to protest questions as well? Agree!
Besides the 2017 caps exam, most caps list in my career was 50-60 deep.
I agree. However, it seems the job really wants to move away from that. They want 4 year lists to promote from.
Yes. This is true.
if you do know, please share the Intel. This is an anonymous forum. Sorry buddy but I have to call you out in this one.

Keep in mind there's no active list and lots of vacancies so this first year will be much more than norm
203
After the answer key changes? Or 203 pre-protests?

After all the make up test takers cheat, this list will hit 225-250 then. Thats a decent sized list and doesnt match everyone screaming how hard this test was.
I was about to say that. I'm thinking this test was hard and yet there are a lot of motherfuckers that are gonna be on this list. Maybe it wasnt really that hard.
Dont beat yourself so hard brother. Congrats! you passed. However, I dont see many passing this exam. Feed back is crazy. Exam was extremely tight. Ill be surprised if this list hit 250. It was the most difficult exam in NYPD history.
Anyone personally visit their DCAS site and see their score change to a higher one?
Two (2) people told me they went from a 77 to 79 and a 83 to an 84 on the DCAS website.
Did anyone else see an increase?
Thats what this whole thread is about.People checking their DCAS dashboard and seeing their score increase
Lmaooooooo. Another future chief smh
I can guarantee you you DID NOT PASS this exam! You are a total IMBECILE for even posting this. SMH
Let me articulate better what I was asking since i wrote it poorly and didnt specify.
did anyone see their failing score 67-68-69 change into a passing grade With the extra points on Dcas?
The only scores Ive been hearing had an increase were guys who already passed Had extra points.
I saw no extra points on my PASSING score.
I havent heard of anyone under a 70 who gained any points.
Is that better for you DrP before you jump on my nuts again when Ive already posted in here previously.
I gained a point and am still below 70.
2 people I know. One with a 68 and another with a 69 both picked up 2 points respectively
anyone who got extra points
does your dcas site still say exam in progress or is there a check mark like the other boxes?
Trying to figure out if they havent reached my name yet or if its completed.
i highly doubt they will get to everyone in 2 weeks. Its prob 1 person adjusting everyone score knowing how the city agencies operate.
But still curious about this Exam box on the dashboard.
see attachment.
One guy who I know who had a 71 picked up 1 point
Make up exam was on November 7th ??
so much misinformation its ridiculous.
if thats the case then clearly theres more time for adjusted score. few more weeks
but then when is it Their turn to protest For those who took it Nov 7th ?
drP u know a lot about nothing, what facts does your crystal ball tell you?
I picked up a single point as well went from 68-69. My DCAS dashboard also currently says exam pending like yours.
LMAOOOOOOOO love it when you guys bait me. Nothing brother, havent heard anything about makeup exams or their protest session.
Agreed

I know a person at 69 who picked up 2 points and a person with a 71 who grabbed 1 point.
I hope I'm wrong for your sake but I imagine the point adding is done for all.
Its over my good people. No more wishing upon a star. Another exam will be administered in the coming future.
Lets get Project Veritas to visit the 104 ;) haha jk DrP.
Youre only guilty of Defrauding factual info on THIS site and preaching for THE KEY like they pay your rent.
