I think someone mentioned 17. The fact they still never got promoted leads me to believe theyre all long term jam ups that probably will never get promoted.

Again 17 if theyre not cleared up by our first bmoc they die on the list. The last person on the 2015 list has in fact been promoted

The last sgts list was similar. A bunch were promoted with the first class of the current list.

Out of the 17, id imagine about 10 will be in the next class. Some have been passed over the whole time this list was being promoted from, prob not gonna get promoted at all. Just my opinion based off of the last Sgt list.

They technically get them promoted prior to the first person on the next list. Most times if you dont get promoted by the last on your list theres a slim chance of getting promoted although some make it through. Only bc theyre usially jammed up pretty badly. Go to the 2015 list and start googling the names of pass overs Im sure some made the news

It has to be over 77. It was 72 and 8 a month ago. Definitely wait on 63asap for the real numbers.

As of April 2, there are 70 lieutenant vacancies (which includes allotment for LCD/LSA), and an additional 16 on terminal leave. As mentioned before, keep in mind this doesn't necessarily mean the job has to fill the spots, it's just the authorized headcount.
That's one less vacancy than last month, which appears to as result of a reinstatement. Combine that with no "terminal" being converted to "retired", and it's a pretty crummy result this time around. Gained 7 on terminal, at least.

My completely worthless and probably wrong prediction: List comes out early May. Back to back classes of 30, nothing for two months, and another class of 30 in October bringing the vacancies to 0. Scores of 94 and up promoted by the fall.

Just doing the math. The past 7 months there's been roughly 80 vacancies. Equals out to about 11 per month.
Figure LT bmocs are roughly 30-40 people. Hopefully the first class takes care of the bulk of vacancies. Next class would be 3-4 months after that. Hopefully first class makes May... if they do next class seems like it would be August-September. If they don't and they start in June, then September-October.

Why retire at 27yrs ? What makes 27yrs a mass exodus as oppose to just completing the 30yrs?
4th Time said

27 = 3/4 .... For some, why stay and extra three yrs...The goal for most is to reach that point if youre tier 2. I cant begin to explain how tough it is to stay beyond the time necessary to achieve that goal. Point of my pervious post was that there were many LTs out of the 91 class that i know of personally that are going down this week to throw the towel in... when you get to your 20th yrs you'll see. Lol. Enjoy those chart days.

When you apply for retirement, you automatically burn all your accrued time before your terminal officially starts. I knew a Lt who applied for reirement to burn all his accrued time for the summer, and then came back before his official terminal leave started. Now he still gets to do the buyout when he really does retire.

yea but you are only possibly losing whatever spot you may have for what approx 2 months or so or whatever your terminal time would be.... so you "work" those 2 months doing whatever earn your extra 25k or so and then retire.
