Will you look at that now his very own evidence betrayed him and now he's forced to concede that he is wrong but in a stupid matter. Now you're saying that very information that you provided is contradictory in nature. Hey idiot this evidence you provided not me. Sorry bro but you are the true troll . the idiotic troll. the stubborn troll. the one who doesn't want to believe that anything is possible and that this test could be thrown out.
Now go get your shinebox.

Yeah I'm done feeding that troll.
Also want to add though, that IF an exam was thrown out in 1996, they gave another exam in the same year. An actual list was not dismissed. This is not an apples to apples comparison at all. It has been a year since our exam (for most of us). Throwing it out after list establishment is very different than giving a retest after a month or two.

Guys, what OntheeArm is saying is true and has happened before and shall happen again.
I did have a chance to speak to my cousin, a retired C.O, who was an mos from 1985 to 2010 and he basically confirmed what OntheeArm is saying. He also told me its happened before that and told me to look up this article as one of instances that the city threw out a test that was plagued by cheating. In any case, a makeup test for all was offered a year later. I was told that the 1996 incident also resulted in a makeup test.
The city has a history of dealing with cheaters by just nixing the tainted exam and replacing it with a new one. Lawsuits do not work against this tactic because its the fairest way to deal with the cheaters. As you can see from the article below even the almighty race card could not stop the commissioning of a new exam.
Good luck to all those who failed for you have a 2nd crack at the rank of Lt. The 2015 Lt Exam seems like its going to be voided in favor of a cheater free makeup exam. My condolences to all those who passed this exam but now must retake it. A big F.U to all the cheaters and I hope you get what you deserve.
For more than eight years, black police officers in New York City have fought a series of legal battles challenging the sergeant's test, saying it discriminated against blacks.
Now black transit police officers are fighting to keep the most recent test from being thrown out, after city investigators claim to have found evidence that a handful of black officers cheated by obtaining test questions in advance.
This reversal has come about because after years of below-average performances, black transit police officers did relatively well on the latest exam, which was given last February.
The allegations of cheating and the cancellation of the test results have left many minority officers frustrated and angry that their hopes of promotion have been quashed by a secret Department of Investigation inquiry that they know nothing about. 'Studied and Studied'
"The test has been thrown out, but no one has proved there were improprieties," said Sgt. Lloyd Finley, president of the Transit Police Guardians, a fraternal group of black officers. "This time our officers sat down and studied and studied and studied."
Soon after the test was given in February allegations surfaced that a handful of black transit police supervisors -- two lieutenants and a sergeant --obtained copies of some test questions and circulated them among members of the Transit Police Guardians, city officials said. Many of the allegations came from white officers who took the test.
The transit police internal affairs division and the city's Department of Investigation began an inquiry, calling at least seven black test-takers in for interviews, officials said.
City officials familiar with the inquiry said the city investigators found evidence that the test had been compromised because at least three ranking officers had leaked test questions to a small study group of minority officers. The Investigation Department turned the case over to the Manhattan District Attorney's office, which is still looking into the matter.
But no one has been arrested on criminal charges or suspended. A senior law-enforcement official said the main target of the investigation is Lieut. Michael Gordon, a black commander assigned to District 1, at Columbus Circle, along with several other officers. Impression of Bias
Still the city's Personnel Commissioner, Douglas H. White, a former State Commissioner of Human Rights, decided to nullify the test results on Sept. 13, in light of the Investigation Department's initial findings.
The lack of information that has been released about the inquiry has left black officers with the impression that their members were selected for investigation because of their race, several officers said yesterday at a protest outside City Hall.
More than 1,850 transit officers took the test on Feb. 2. Of them, 434 white, 247 black and 46 Hispanic officers passed. At present, 31 of the 354 sergeants in the subway system are black. A new test will be offered on Feb. 1, 1992.

Breaking down the truth:
>>>People that have studied their butts off and FAILED the exam wants one of these outcomes: (1) This exam gets thrown out completely and give another "FAIR" exam by the end of this year OR (2) Hurry up and promote all of the 204 candidates on this list within a year and give a "FAIR" exam by next year.
>>>People that have studied their butts off and PASS the exam wants this outcome: This exam DOES NOT get thrown out at all and hurry up with the promotions so that they can move on with their lives.
>>>People that have NOT studied their butts off and PASS the exam wants: This exam DOES NOT get thrown out at all and hurry up with the promotion of all of the 204 candidates on this list...and give a "FAIRER" exam soon so that the rest of the angry and pissed off people will be too damn busy studying for the next exam.

PROVE IT, with a mindset like that it is hard to believe that you are even a Sgt within the NYPD. So far you have been given two instances of how the NYPD has thrown out exams in order to discourage cheating but this is not relevant to you and the reason you give is that they are both 20 years old??????
Excuse me for saying this but you are obtuse.
I, unlike you, am a realist. The evidence so far is overwhelming. Based on past instances of cheating the NYPD has dealt with the problem exactly the same by throwing out the offending exam and issuing a new exam. Someone else point out that Bratton was PC in 1996 when he had the exam thrown out for the cheating scandal of that time. Being that he is PC now I sense and expect the same.
If the articles on the internet do not lie about this matter so what is your problem with me then?

I do not think you understand how much in the minority you really are. About 2700 sgts took this exam and only 128 passed. It seems that there a lot more of us calling for a do over than you can possibly comprehend. While you ponder those numbers please realize that if no do over exam is given then it opens up the doors to a legit lawsuit which can easily be proven since past cheating exams have been thrown out. A successful pattern on how to deal with this sort of problem has been implemented in the past. To deviate from this solution only welcomes litigation.
I shall conclude that you are one of the very few that passed and for that I congratulate you but I am not your enemy here. The enemy are the idiots who cheated. I am a victim as well in this and it behooves me to protect my best interests. As we speak there is a growing list of sgts gearing up for a lawsuit just in case the NYPD decides not to scrap this list. I assure you that the bulk of the test takers of the 2015 Lts exam are for the eradication of this exam. Sorry to say but we have the numbers and God willing we will get this test thrown out one way or another.
All that being said, I do wish everyone the best of luck. Only time will tell if i am correct in my assumptions but then again your gut is telling you that i am correct so i pray you did not throw away your studying material. I know I didnt. I can sleep well knowing what the inevitable outcome shall be. Can you?
I PRAY THAT YOU WILL FIND SOME UNDERSTANDING AND ACCEPTANCE IN ALL THIS TURMOIL.

I assume the passers are generally in the minority for most, if not all promotional exams. The "do over" is coming in 2017. Lawsuits, exam being thrown out.... It wouldn't be the same if we didn't see these posts.

I'm on the cusp and I am not calling for a do over. I'm not alone. I have no idea who you think you're speaking for. Why would anyone pursue the nucear option when you can focus on getting the obviously flawed questions tossed. If successful, it could add several hundred names to the list. Along with that you simultaneously pursue other fundamental structural changes that could yield similar results for this list. If successful it would actually help us and all future test takers because it would ensure this debacle isn't repeated for future exams.

Black Officers Fight to Retain Results of Test
