usually theres at least a few people with solid information even this early after the exam. Everyone has been very quiet and I believe theres not a lot of info in regards to passers. A lot of people are still in shock because they studied and did not expect to fail. Even the job is probably surprised about the low number of passers. This may be the reason the forum has been so quiet. Everything we have is just speculation at this time and hopefully after protest we can some good info.

2017 Sgt list was 2600+ & LT Exam was 1300+ do we have an idea the list number for this recent Sgt Exam?..and considering LT was half of it, should we expect the same again?

I am assuming the Sgt list will be at least 3000 and if they follow the 2017 rule the LT list could be around 1500. No surprise look at the Capt list. Bigger than total number of captains the NYPD has. Just speculation but could be true since we already got a captain list out of proportion.

How pathetic are you that you literally created a new account to quote your own quote. Youre one of those miserable cops on this job who accomplished nothing & still sit at home in your parents basement.

The Covid sgt issue is real. Everyone promoted over the last two years failed the 2017 sgt exam. Lets be honest, this Lt exam was not comparable to the 2017 set of exams. A 60 on this test is good to go imho. It will be interesting to see how it plays out but I think 60 and up should be safe.
Just remember, this shit doesnt happen in Florida
Its not all sunshine down there. I have a family member in a fairly large sheriffs office on Floridas west coast. Supervisory positions up to Lt are exam based, however, if you pass, you do not get promoted in order based off of your score. Command staff and the Sheriff make the decision on which passers they want to promote and when. As if the nepotism in the NYPD isnt bad enough already, imagine that nonsense here.

But hey, maybe they use actual merit and not just you getting a 70+ on a multiple choice exam. A written exam should just be one factor along with recommendations, resume and experience. Not going to lie, if that were the case I wouldve had motivation to do more on this job but since its just an exam, lemme study for 8 months and be done with it

I can only speak on what goes on in that department, but its not a stretch to presume that it would be similar in other departments. Some selections are based off merit, and then some are not. Thats just the nature of such things; sometimes those in power must reward certain candidates to either maintain power/favor, or to gain power/favor. Executives on our job in particular have to play this game all day long as well.

If Im not mistake looks like PBA got 3.5 in 2022 & 2023 then 4 in 2024. This contract is for 3.25 in 2022 & 2023 and 3.5 in 2024. I dont think that is that good we should be matching them or getting something. LBA has to fight harder if were not matching the pay increases its not good for the long run.
