I am sure Maddrey will take his mouthpiece that useless schmuck of a defective with him to CAB. Every gun collar he made was DPed because dumb**** knew he violated all the rule in the book and didnt to know how to articulate his ****
Btw, when and if, Maddreys personal record becomes available, will it cause uproar among BLM and their white allies ? Rhetorical question
P.S nothing against him, he is a great boss. The last of the Mohicans...

I dont think we will have a severe drop in headcount. Dont see it actually happening, but nothing shocks me anymore.

Candidate Assessment Division did a live Q&A on Instagram today (@nypdrecruit), in which they stated that the academy is still a go, tentatively starting July 1.

Not hearing good news. No classes for a while, possibly until next year. I dont see the list going past 1700. if youre below that number time to hit the books again.

sgt vacancies will hit 200 by fall
yougonow said

We are undoubtedly already at ~200 vacancies with almost 100 LT vacancies with terminals. We will for sure hit 250ish vacancies for Sgt soon enough. That's not counting LT vacancies which are approx 100 by end of summer with the terminals up. This also does not factor in between retirements as well. The only issue is the 9% reduction in numbers, which may alienate some of those vacancies, but not by much.

Why would anyone eligible for retirement remain? Are they waiting to get sued or arrested with this new policy?

On that topic, can your pension still be forfeited if you get convicted of a felony AFTER retirement?

IIRC if youre convicted of a felony after 20 years on your pension goes back to the 20 year. Anything earned after is forfeited

With the amount of sergeants leaving, they will need to be replaced, and at this rate, they're gonna have to resume BMOC at some point this year despite what some people are saying.

yes and no, that formula applies to the size of the dept as well. i believe right now there are 6 cops/det for every sgt. and 2.6 sgts for every Lt. if my math is correct

Dont forget police officers are leaving too. Less pos = dont need as many sgts.

Ed Mullins, president of the Sergeants Benevolent Association, said an exodus from the NYPD has begun. He said nearly 80 of his members have recently filed for retirement, and that morale is at the lowest levels Ive seen in 38 years.
Since there are people here that get the inside scoop, drop your rumors about the next class here.
