They announced the 2015 Lt exam in August of 2014 with about 200 names left on the 2011 Lt list... look for an announcement with about 200 left on this one, which should be sooner than later.

According to DCAS website looks like the ball is rolling "Lieutenant Exam 7532 is TBD"
Exams schedules are released for the fiscal year. The current fiscal year ends 6/30/17, meaning the latest possible date for the next test is 6/30/17. I'm still holding firm for May.

Bigfoot, do us a favor a make a 2017 Lt exam forum please.
No more notes, too! We replaced it with our own Patrol Guide. The Essential Guide is the Patrol Guide with notes, tips, acronyms, and summaries/takeaways on some of the more complicated procedures. Instead of taking out the "fluff" we just shaded it gray, so you can still skim it. Also, it will only contain just Lieutenant duties and below!

We're working on making the digest available digitally, as well.
The live classes will be in person (it will also be recorded so you can do it from home). We'll be doing it throughout the 5 boroughs/adjoining counties.
The live class option will include the Essential Guide, weekly questions, Legal Digest, in-basket course, etc... It'll be everything you need for the test

We're still figuring out pricing (waiting on our supplier to see what the overhead will be) but we anticipate it to be around $549 for study at home or $749 for live classes.

This may not be the best place to post this question, how long can you defer your promotion to Sgt when your list comes up, I was just put on track, and I expect to get promoted in about 7 months. Can I postpone my promotion for 11 months until I get a detective shield? Thanks.

You can also sign up for the test in BMOC. Leadership Training Section will forward your application to DCAS even after the filing period.

Right now it looks like it will be the mini--but we're still in the process of finalizing everything.
In the end, you'll have access to 3 guides: an electronic Essential guide, a printed mini-Essential Guide, and one section of the Essential Guide each week edited down to the rank of lieutenant.
I've always been an advocate of having at least 2 printed guides: one for reference and one to tear-up, mark-up, write all over, etc...
As far as classes go it's probably going to be Friday day/night in the Bronx/upstate border; Monday day/night in Brooklyn/SI;
Saturday morning and afternoon in Nassau/Suffolk/Queens; Wed. night by 1PP.
We don't want to go too crazy with the locations since this is our first time going live, but we could always add more if the demand is there and based on feedback, so let me know your thoughts.

Detox, we're doing both live or study at home (or a combination of the two--it'll be up to the students).
There's no extra charge for mailing the material to the study-at-home students. Both options are $699.
If you do the study at home you will get everything the live class students get mailed to you. You can even come to class if you change your mind or whenever you're free.

Week 1 lesson went out to the study at home people yesterday. It's the 202 questions and the accompanying lesson. The post office is closed Monday so give it until the end of the week. The Essential Guide (for those who haven't gotten it yet) should follow a few days after. Please bear with us for the slight delay; we had to hold off printing to get the 205 Interim Orders in there. The Essential Guide mailing will also come with the new PG 203-07 (which came out 12/30), so it'll be as up-to-date as possible.
All students (live and study-at-home) will get their Essential Guide mailed to them; live students can pick up their study packet at the door when they show up for class.

With roughly 140 people left on the old Lts List after the 30 going in on Febuary 24th ... they will exhaust that list well before the end of this year if they continue with past history of promoting roughly 300 per year. They might have to expite the new list or go months without promotions.
