Mine Is the 14th as well.. Joralemon St in BK.. I think it's kinda stupid that some people will know before others. What was wrong with posting the answer key? Even if you go to the protest session different days at least everyone would have the "proposed answers" the same day.

I got mine, says 5/14 in brooklyn....so far away. I wonder if they give you the most inconvenient location on purpose. Any way. It says that there is no talking allowed....I thought we were allowed to discuss with others? I do not have materials. I have the elite guide but it isn't fully updated to 1/18 as I used the one on the computer. Guess I will have to do that now. I thought I never had to look at that crap again! DAMMMMITTT

Looks like DCAS is F-ing around again if what people say above is true.... No talking? Are you kidding me?
>=O
The 2013 Sgt's exam, you could talk freely amongst yourselves. There were no assigned seats. The way I described it in another post is exactly how it went down.
And there was only ONE DAY to protest and I believe it was a SATURDAY.
This is unbelievable. By having it on multiple days and not allowing people to talk, they are employing DIVIDE AND CONQUER tactics...
Un-freaking-believable.

It's funny how people use the phrase "I'm pretty sure" in just about any situation, but I'm "pretty sure" that the above is false.

440-6
Subject: Excused Time for Participation in Examinations, Appointment Interviews or Investigation Interviews Regarding Appointment from Eligible Lists
Supersedes: Personnel Policy and Procedure No. 657-86
Source: The "Leave Regulations for Employees Who are Under the Career and Salary Plan," Section 4.0 e. and the "Leave Regulations for Management Employees," Section 8.0 e.
Date: March 21, 1997
I. Policy
A. Excused Time with No Charge to Leave Balances
At the discretion of the agency head, permanent, provisional or temporary full- time employees, who submit documentation satisfactory to the agency head, may participate in the following without charge to their leave balances:
1. New York City civil service promotion and open competitive examinations;
2. Examinations for licenses which are required for the performance of the employee's duties or for eligibility to take a promotion examination;
3. Official investigation or appointment interviews regarding appointment from eligible lists resulting from these examinations;
4. Teacher examinations, or official investigation and appointment interviews given by the New York City Board of Education.
B. Excused Time Charged to Leave Balances
When the agency head determines that the operations of the agency and its services to the public will not be adversely affected, employees may be allowed to charge their annual leave or compensatory time balances to participate in the following:
1. Test preparation courses held during work hours;
2. Sessions held for the purpose of reviewing, protesting or appealing answers to New York City civil service examination questions.
II. Procedure
A. Employees wishing excused time to participate in the activities listed in "A" above, must submit a written request to the agency head or designee prior to the examination or interview. This request must include the date and time of the examination or interview.
B. In order to be excused without charge for participation in these activities, employees must submit written verification of their participation. This verification must be satisfactory to the agency head."
I bet if denied a lawsuit could be won, but that's a steep uphill battle. I mean, according to this, you can be denied for the test itself even... It probably doesn't happen because of some lawsuit on the past but who knows...

I actually wasn't being sarcastic. I thought the protest session was lumped in with the test, IE something you can do on job time. You posted that the test can be done with no charge to leave balances. I was honestly going to Post Change myself and go to the protest. Now I guess I have to change my tour or burn a day. Trying to save them on the off shot that I pass, LT's don't get any chart days!

Protests actually fall under section B in what I posted that actually says charged to your leave balance, so yes, you're supposed to burn a day if they don't deny your 28.
In either case though (test or protest) this basically says they could deny you.... I've never heard of anyone being denied for the exam itself. Only the protest....why is that? Probably no one had sued yet for being denied their 28 to go to protest.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did this on purpose. After the first protest the answers are going to spread like wildfire. Most likely, the others that passed won't attend and those that failed by more than a couple of points won't attend either. It will give DCAS a lot less work.... But on the other hand, why not just release the answers publicly before a protest.

For those attending the protest;
Pay close attention and dissect the questions that had multiple procedures and/or guides; there were 21 of them. These questions have the best odds of a possible conflict with the other procedures which may result in a double/triple, etc. answer.
Best of Luck!!

I wonder if they are doing this so we can't unite with more people and discuss together.... Plus I believe the protest session is a protest in its self Bc they said the date you get is the date you must go" no exceptions will be made".. Now it's up to the needs of the dept if I get my 28 approved .. What a ****ing joke... They make it impossible for us to help ourselves... But it's super easy for a female in the FDNY to graduate while failing PE TEST... **** this city
