There could be a class. There have been summer promotions before and it could happen again. The people who are in BMOC now are a good source for info on when the next class will be.

I think this list has moved faster than a lot of us thought. It took a bit for them to activate it but it has been moving. Generally they don't promote in July and august ( that's been the pattern the last couple of years ) but with rumors of an academy class going in in July and another in January, maybe we will see a change. I'm hoping for about 3 more classes to go in before the lt test. We shall see. Any rumors please keep us posted. Again congrats to those that made this last class.

There is an Article in Today's Daily News that there is NO PLANNED Academy classes going in for the remainder of 2011. I believe Peter Vallone (Politician) is who said it. Just relaying what I read today...

The daily news and ny post are newspapers with a lot of gossip. We don't know yet if there will be a class or not but the rumors I've heard have pointed to a July class of about 1500 recruits. We'll see.

With all the retirements it only makes sense to have a large group of recruits coming in considering we haven't had a large class in about a year.

according to BMOC Lt, 1600 recruits in July, no BMOC classes july and august, next class possibly sept or oct

Sorry bout not posting in a long time. My computer died. In BMOC now and the Lt. said that historically, there has not been a summer class. He said the job does like to put as many as possible in before the next test. Theoretically, he said you could get promoted on friday and take the test on saturday. In my opinion, there will be at least 1 more class, but I believe that there is a good chance of 2 more classes that could get in, namely sept and an october class. Anyways, good luck to those waiting.

I've heard of guys getting promoted up front or within the first two weeks, I think it all depends what the Dept has going on.

Just got info from a good source...July class is going in! As of now 70 slated and there most likely will be an august class as well! Dept is way behind on filling openings in the rank.

I dont think anything is really "confirmed" so we will all have to wait, but i have been hearing the same rumors, but I dont have great sources.

Ok would like to add fire to this here thread:

So there I am enjoying my two month plus line of duty recovery with no rush tohurry back to work cause I am over 100 names away and surely wouldnt need to rush back right? I mean according to most I would be looking at an Oct. date at the earliest, right? Well listen to this : I go in today to my docs and he says he has a form from promotions in regards to me. He explains that they want a date on that form as to when I will be going back full duty even if an approximation.

My point is that all this talk of more classes going in earlier tham later makes some sense otherwise why would the job be going through the trouble of worrying about a cop more than 100 names away? What do you gys think?

That form is meaningless. It's just to keep them inform of you're status. As long as you are not out due to some major injury you'll be able to attend when you're name gets called.

From what you guys are saying a class that could go in , the 1st monday of july would fall on july 4th... That would make to straight bmoc classes going in on a holiday...good luck, hope thats true. Stay safe.

when i got promoted to sgt, the 4th of july detail was the last bit of overtime i made before going into BMOC the morning of Tuesday, July 5th

Thanks brat, that what i meant, the 4th of july is a big ot weekend, kinda surprised a monday the 4th would go in, thats like having a bmoc on ju-vey week on eastern parkway.

I saw the board today and they have cleared up to 461. The instructor (SGT) said that maybe there might be a July class but no real certainty for sure. keep positive any new news I will post. stay safe everyone smile
