Well the telephone message would come down on the 28th for those going into BMOC since they have to chart change individuals going in on Sept. 2. So if the rumors are true of a Sept. 2nd class, expect a telephone message to your cmd. next Thursday.

Lets hope something happens tomorrow. I am probably more towards the middle of the list, with over 5 years, but still need everyone in front of me, with enough time, to get promoted first, then i will start to get my hopes up. Good luck to all.

Irish, that would be great! It's not what Cat said though.
Right away could mean each month until everyone with over 5 years has been trained. Leaving just the 5 year wonders to be trained.
Incentive to take a test if you see movement from the lists.
New test in January 2009 with promotions from that list started 3 months later. That is as it should be! IMO

New PBA tentative agreement with city!!! Hopefully we'll ratify it! 4, 4, 4, 4!!!
August 21, 2008
I am pleased to inform you that we have a tentative agreement for the contract covering August 1, 2006 to July 31, 2010.
We have achieved a package of benefits valued by the PBA at well in excess of 20%. Salary will increase at every step of the schedule by a compounded 16.98% bringing our total basic maximum pay in the contracts last year to $76,488. Considering other forms of pay (including longevity, holiday pay, night differential and uniform allowance) our average monetary compensation after 20 years will rise to over $94,000.
As part of this agreement, we have negotiated a historic provision that links longevity pay and the citys contribution to the health and welfare fund to all future general wage increases. For the first time in this great unions history, your longevity pay and the citys contribution to the health and welfare fund will automatically increase by the same percentage as the general wage increase. As a result, your longevity pay will grow exponentially while providing for the fiscal stability of our welfare benefits package for active and retired officers for years to come. Prior to this agreement, longevity pay and the citys contribution to the welfare fund did not increase along with general wage increases and had to be negotiated separately in each round often remaining static.
The agreement also restores the range day, adds a provision allowing mutual exchanges of tours and eases home confinement provisions while out sick. For officers hired since July 2008 and for all future officers, it restores three vacation days in their 3rd, 4th and 5th years and increases starting pay to nearly $42,000 in the last year of the contract.
It is my belief that this contract represents the very best agreement we could negotiate on your behalf. I strongly encourage you to ratify it when your ballot arrives.
Fraternally,
Patrick J. Lynch President

My crane said the promotions are officially on August 29th. BMOC will not be release until Sept 5th, however they will be OFFICIALLY Sergeants as of August 29th.
You get a copy of the orders at Promotion, so they are in effect that day.
His best estimation is the list will be out on Friday.

Yes they get promoted this Friday with the new Lt's, then they go to their commands for 4 days and back at BMOC on the 5th. Which Friday though, for the list.

The first BMOC from exam 7508 is September 2 (like Cat has been saying). 75 candidates will go in. However, do not expect the list to be out before then. Cat had mentioned mid September but I just heard later than that. I also heard they are not killing the current list. The remaining candidates will get promoted when they make 5 years in January 09. This is why they are not putting the list out just yet. If you think you are within the top 100 (because about 25 cops in front of you may not have 5 years, jammed up, etc.) have your commands look out for the finest message to notify you to report to the police academy next Tue.
