I think it's gonna be a little while especially since the LT list has not come out and DCAS definitely doesn't seem to be an agency that can multitask compiling two lists at the same time.

And here i was thinking that we were finally entering the 21st century by taking a test on a computer. Silly me for thinking the list would be out any quicker.

All the steps are still the same. Now there are different questions for the make ups too, so it may actually take longer than the previous 6 month norm.

Huh? Dcas administers all city tests and is always dealing with dozens of tests at once. They remain bureaucratic and incompetent but they obviously always handle more than one test at a time.

I heard of the 4 people who took make up, 1 of them is a well known scammer for all 3 exams, rhymes with ferrarrte... and another left the test site cuz his tampon was leaking on original test date and was able to take a make up. That good ole chap is a minor problem for everyone. He never did one day on patrol. His hook on this must be scared to put this guy patrolling streets of New York. Maybe this guy is afraid of getting a nick or bruise. If this guy called a 10-13, Im proud to say I wouldnt put down my ice cream cone.

Lmfao i saw what u did there, i heard about him, faking a medical emergency while waiting on line to go in the test site so he can take the makeup. No integrity whats so ever but eventually karma will catch up to him.

Did does 2 model Lieutenants pass the make-up?

Is it even possible for the job to promote captains at the moment without putting our list out? Is there enough people on the old list to do so? Anybody know??

I know one out of the 3 passed but she had a legit excuse, not like the one that felt ill during the original test date, and left in an ambulance from the test site.

The female who passed is 100% a great person and not a scammer. Went out of her way not to ask anyone anything about the test, not that it mattered because it was different AND more difficult than ours.

correct she had a legit reason, she has not scammed in previous exams like the other 2

Heard yesterday from two separate people that the list is expected to come out the end of May or June. Anyone hear something similar?

Hey soon to be Capts... do you think the DCAS scaling method has made its way to your list yet?

I don't know that it has but I believe it will... Same reasoning sounds valid and should apply to all exams.

I think this dcas scaling expert will have a greater impact on the capt exam because of how few capts we promote a year...47...50 tops. If the list is over 200...then what?

Dude we knew this a month ago. Lay off the tide pods. Its just a few leftovers from the old Capt list.

The real question is where is the new Capt list?! I thought the purpose of DCAS moving to an electronic exam was to speed up the overall process. You mean to tell me it takes 6 months to review submitted protests, hold the tvb, implement a disparity analysis, and validate jst/senority points for the rumored 250plus passers?! The inefficiency of DCAS amazes me everytime!

Clearly you are still hating me for supporting the 9 heroes. The fact that you dont care about the lack of transparency in this new DCAS process is the reason we are our own worst enemy. Competing interests. Some people need the list to come out faster, while others dont have time in rank so they can care less. Some people may benefit from DCAS' disparity impact expert expanding the list...others may not.

No, no one likes you because you are a selfish one way douchebag. Your posts are so obvious, you keep asking what's going to happen if the list is over 200 names... The same thing that always happened when the list was 200+... Everyone will get made because that's a normal sized list. You're a scumbag that is hoping and praying that lists get cut because you imagine that somehow it will expedite your own promotions. You're what's wrong with this department, the new breed of **** bag selfish tools that are only out for themselves. You must be a real gem to work for, or have as a subordinate. You post on a captains board but I don't even think you're a lieutenant yet.... Why don't you learn to be Sergeant before worrying about getting your white shirt fitted.

Let's try to not let our forum become like the others where there's constant bickering and click bait for attention.  If you don't have any news just refrain from posting stupidity and enjoy having a normal life while you still can...

So this is how the legendary Ondeeair must have felt! Centrion you started this! All I did was rant about DCAS and you show how took that as me wanting to see the Capt list get cut. Like I will get some twisted pleasure out of that or that will speed up promotions for other ranks. All lists sgt, lt, and capt will go the entire 4 years. Will they get cut??? The numbers say yes...but who really knows? No one honestly...its not illegal to have a theory. I mean who really thought the mets would have started 9-1 to begin the season.

I have a theory as well, you're an ass hole that's completely full of ****. I don't care about the sgts or Lts list, I have no horse in that race. Your "theory" as it pertains to the captains list has been more than adequately disproven... Captains exams were routinely over 200 names for years, and all got made... This is been stated ad nauseum by multiple people with plenty of legitimate proof to support such a claim. You are a **** stirring turd who keeps asking a question you know the answer to because you want to hear someone say, "the list will be cut"... Sorry snowflake that's not the case. You are absolutely hoping the lists get cut because you are a selfish problem prick that only cares about yourself and everyone else be damned.... I've been doing investigative work long enough to read people and their intentions with a very good degree of accuracy. But in your case even Stevie Wonder could see what you're up to..... Again, be a Sgt first before worrying about your white shirt... I'm sure you don't get laid now for a variety of reasons, your shirt lightening in color will not help your cause. I say learn how to be a Sergeant, but it's probably likely you never even learned to be a cop.

Lt list took 7 weeks after vet appointments. Capt vet appts were last week so if it stays the same youre looking at end of June. Maybe sooner because of smaller list but who knows.

Hey guys .. it's June 1st and no legitimate info in our list .. I appreciate we are trying to maintain this forum more civilized and not spread rumors like the LT's and Sgts' forums .. but we must have some LT's in here who has to be in the "know" and be willing to share some Intell regarding our list?? ..

I don't have any info, mere speculation. This list is going to take a while, they are in no rush (take a look at the vacancies). Enjoy your summer and don't expect anything until at least September. Anything before that would be a surprise in my opinion.

The lts board was not accurate. The sgts board was not accurate. Heres where we stand:
1- vet pts were verified week of may 17. Compared to lts exam this is faster then lts were . Theres were verified first week of April with a test date of late August.
2-their list took 7 weeks from vet pts being verified to come out. If this holds true for us that brings us to last week of June/first week of July.
3- there are numerous xo spots vacant so I wouldnt be hung up on vacancies since they have often gone over with captain vacancies.

So heres my opinion: list out first week of July and promo either July 27 or aug 31. I get those dates from the scheduled promo dates provided but I have zero intel on this just trying to use history as an indication

Generally 50 but a bigger list of 200 still has very good odds of all being promoted

Anyone else hearing anything? Streets have been quiet lately...I know that none of us are in a rush but just trying to get an idea to plan some stuff..268 is a big number for a Capt's list but then again just look at the Lt/Sgt lists...I believe that everyone will get made since they're aren't many Lt's rushing to give up their QOL and take a pay cut except for the tier 3 ppl the have no choice but to get promoted.

25, its 50 per year which means 200 in 4 years. However I believe all will be made from a list of 268

268 sounds doable. 10 mos for Sgt list, 9 mos for Lt list, 8 mos for Capt? We will see.

They have done as many as 290 and 260 over 4 years so it appears they could promote the whole list.

I think the job will get to 200 and then maybe over promote by 68 to finish up the list. Even if there is another capt exam in that 4th year the job will figure it will take dcas approx a year to administer/compile another list....

But that being said, the job has made the Capt rank more attractive hence the record number of people who took the last Capt exam..and the job is getting younger so I dont see a mass exodus of Capt and above.

Time will tell....
