I didn't start that. I simply said I was told the same from a reliable source. Do I believe it? YES. Can I be wrong? YES.

Cappped,

What does that have to do with the number of people that will be promoted of this list.  I don't see the relation. Please explain...

I didn't mean for it to be related.

Although thinking about it now I guess they could be. Might not be a good idea to compare your SCORE to the cut off score of 2006.  I think scores will be more top heavy on this current list. So IF you were to try and compare the cut off line from 2006, list number would be a better measure. But 2006 was over 10 years ago.. I don't think its relevant to this current list at all.

From just talk with other guys / gals, it seems that a lot of people who took this test did very well.  There might be some truth to what your saying.

People thought I was insane when I said it's very possible that the top 150 will consist of scores in the 90's.

I believe it. Who knows though... the ppl I speak to are bookworms so maybe my gauge is off. I hope were wrong about it being top heavy

I agree with 4th time. It doesnt matter what you scored on the test, all that matters is your list number. If you are in the top 800 then history and department needs show that you should be safe. I know this is an extreme example and is not the case, but if 800 people scored a 95 or better, and you are list 801 with an 94, then suddenly your 94 isnt looking so hot.

Can a score in the 90s put you out of the top 100? Possibly. Not likely but possibly. Into the 150? Yes you are insane.

A flat 90 started at #64 and ended at #90 in 2006. At WORST let' say a 90 now starts at #90 on this list and ends around 120-130...thats the worst case. No way will it be worse than that. 80's will be very heavy as will 70's.

I guess we'll see when that list comes out Manhands. Let's make a nice friendly bet and when you lose, you'll have to buy my future platoon a lunch spread. Deal ???

Yea I heard a long time ago. Pretty much 1100ish had initially passed and with some throw outs/doubles its up to that range you mentioned slightly lower though like 1200-1300ish. Hopefully we find out soon!

I think youre right. Theres a lot of 90S. Dont dismiss Manhands though the unit told him it should come out in a month towards the end of January... they could have meant March but got lost in translation.

It's always taken over 6 months before the list comes out. Does anybody here really think DCAS is going to be ahead of schedule on this one?

So take my advice. Put your money where your mouth is and turn down the promotion an keep your chart days and you can stay at home and stare at your kids and family all day.

Remember bud, some people (like myself) aren't top pay Sergeants yet so the promotion will give me almost a 25k boost in salary. In my case the chart days mean SQUAT !!! For those who are top pay, have accrued a ton of time, are in a good gig etc. The initial promotion won't be as beneficial and for guys like that I could understand not wanting to rush the promotion. To each their own.

I dont know if you guys have been following the sgt forums but this coach parcells nutjob has been on point with his intel. im hearing the same rumor...right now there are only 15 sgt vacancies...but if the Lt list is released in march and they put in a class of 40 or so Lts then that 60 sgt number is totally legit. But it still all comes down to dcas if they release the Lt list. Sorry ManHands but your feb Lt list prediction was fake news!

1400 passed out of 2400? With that ratio this was probably the easiest promotional exam in department history.

 A night with 4 49's and a couple of TRI's...

Me- doing the paperwork

The Lieu- says good job and goes home

Guys who are saying not to rush to get promoted are either:

A) In a sweet gig where they do little to nothing

B) Never did Patrol so they don't understand that Sgts do all the work and LTs do what Bronxfriedrice mentioned above

C) Are just haters and don't want to see people advance their careers

D) All of the above

I'm not in a rush because I'll be in the bottom 1/3 of the list.  Every day that passes before this list starts is an opportunity for an old lieutenant to retire and open up another vacancy to be filled up front.

I upvote wingnut. The longer it takes the better. Only Sgts that should be in a rush are those with 15+ years otj.
