List or score first?

Can anyone advise whether you get your score in the mail first, or does the list come first?

In 2013 the list definitely came out first, and later in the week we got the letters in the mail.

Yes it does.. DCAS establishes the list then the Department sends it out via Finest message.

All of this **** is delaying our test results you need someone to hand mark your test? Then you need a test violation board to look at your answers? If you failed, you failed. The test was pretty fair and valid.

Yupp, some powerful executives family member originally failed and was on the cusp of passing. Instead of that family member EARNING it, they curved the exam instead.

I've been reading this site a long time before I started posting and from what I observed, Rookiescum is basically a Guru on this site without the actual title. If he says there was a curve then you better believe that there was a curve. I just hope that since the job enacted a curve on this test that they did it for a good reason and the list runs its course. Or at least goes well beyond 2000. I know a lot of good guys who ended up in the 2200-2400 range that would make great supervisors.

Not DOUBTING him, I'd just like to understand the WHY. Are they looking to hike up Sgt numbers? Are they only looking to hire the first 1k(the smart guys and girls), then do another exam? Or first 2k? Or a high level executive child is on the lower end?

It's a little difficult to believe it, but if he says it's a fact, fine. Again, I'd just like to know the WHY. I believe it's to bulk the dept after the last 3 terror attacks in 10 weeks, not including others in 2017 and 2016. I guess one way to try to believe that is to monitor PO hiring.

I heard the LT list is 1k-1.1k long. Any truth to that?

Well according to my sources. (The same ones that told me about this 2600+ list back when everyone thought I was crazy.) The coming LT list will be over 1000 and the CPT's list should be between 250 and 300 give or take a few. As for why a curve would be enacted on our sgt's list, I have nooooooo Idea. It could be myriad of things. If I had to guess though, I would just assume that they bulked up our list to line up more with the LT and CPT lists. Those both had a passing rate far beyond our test. That way all three lists would have a steady stream of promotions and then they can offer tests again for all 3 ranks within the same year, just like they did in 2017. Keep things more organized.

Yeah I think the LT list is in fact pretty long and who knows how many questions they end up tossing...could be even longer. Good news for guys that didnt score that high on the SGTs exam...plenty of time to get promoted before next LT exam

This had to be the worst case scenario for yanosik... 3 exams with lists sizes almost unheard of. Enjoy the vacation mike. See you in 2021.

Im sure Yano is ok financially. He shouldve made a killing out of these last 3 exams. Good for him. The next exams should be sometime in 2020...... I dont see them giving the test on the same year the list gets killed cause we all know how long it takes DCAS to establish a list.

Will that 800 bump even help with attrition? What's the current PO headcount?
