The Test Validation Board Thread

Lets make this the official TVB thread. I know it hasnt begun yet, but there are people on this board who are usually in the know of whats going on (not referring to the trolls). Things always leak out on this job, lets hope we get to hear some rumored leaks, doing my research on these boards there are a handful of people who are usually spot on with their information.

Hoping for some thowouts.

For those who dont know what a TVB is, in short, its basically the group of supervisors who will decide what questions will be thrown out. They go over all the protests.

The TVB Panel will consist of 2 supervisors (1 Sgt selected by the SBA and 1 Sgt selected by the Dept) and 1 rep from DCAS.

@BlastLivesMatter, no I am not Prayforapass the user, but I am Praying for a pass however, lol. I got a 69, and i am hoping for a throw out that goes my way, but at the same time being realistic and realizing that the test was formatted in a straightforward way, short and sweet questions, it will be difficult.

Thanks for the info On Point Info. Looking forward to news from you guys within the next few months, the small handful of you guys are always spot on with your information, hope to hear from people like you soon.

When I went to DCAS to ask for my question numbers I asked a guy that works there he says this will take several months. They thoroughly go through each protest carefully and they have a lot of protest for this exam. I was happy when he said that. I'm hoping since so many people protested that we can get that one point we need.

tdcarlin, thank you. Hope I get a similar result. Pass1234, i'm not exactly sure how it works, but after doing some research the TVB can start about 4 months after the exam. For the 2015 Lt's test it started late August, their exam was Mid April. May 21st I would assume is the last day for all protests to be sent in since April 21st was the last PRS day. Then give it maybe another month to get the TVB Sgt's etc, then another month to review the protests, and another month to adjust and release the list.

Based on research on this board, I see that once the TVB commences and it approaches the end information on throw outs usually leak out before the list. The only inaccuracy I have seen so far on the board is with the 2015 Lt's Exam. Guys were swearing there were throw outs the first time around and it turned out to be false. With prior Sergeants exams, the guys on here were usually spot on with the rumors. With the 2013 Exam, it leaked that there were 5 throw outs, then it turned out to be 4. With the 2011 Exam the leaks were spot on also, with 1 throw out and 2 double answers on that one. They have never been specific on which questions were thrown out though.

Lets hope for the best. Hoping that everyone on the 67-69 range can get those points needed.

The time to mail in protests are just about up. I hope DCAS was flooded with them, lol. Remaining optimistic for everyone. Not only those cutting it close, but for those pushing for a higher list number and score.

Predictions ? Lol. Lets try and keep this board alive.

Anyone have any idea how long after the protest cutoff date does it take for the Sgts to be assigned to the TVB ?

The people who took the May 30 makeup don't have their protest session for another 5 weeks. Then I hear there is another makeup in July. I don't see this list getting generated til at least the fall but that's just my personal opinion based on these makeup dates and that the protest and tvb still has to follow.

I was at my fraternal dinner the other day and we had CO of the Career Enhacement Unit as one of the guests. After talking about the 2013 Sgt's exam and how there's going to be a surplus of Sgts for a while, he did mention that the list for the 2017 exam will be established sometime in October. i have no idea how he came up with that date but I imagine he would probably know. It also makes sense based on these make-up exams.
Just passing along what I heard. It really sucks that we have to wait that long, I was hoping to find out my
List # sometime this summer.

Thats good information, But I think make up exams have nothing to do with when they do TVB's. With the last Lts exam, they gave a make up exam in December of 2015, yet they started the TVB for that test in Late August of 2015.

The TVB is important because thats when we find out how many throwouts, if any, there will be. The info is usually leaked. If I had to guess I would think the TVB begins at the end of this month, being that it will be 4 months after the exam. With the last Lts test it was also 4 months after the test. But I could be wrong. Hopefully one of the guys in the know on the bosrd can correct me if im wrong. And I wonder if the Sgts assigned to the TVB actually get transferred there temporarily so we can see it on the finest/personnel orders etc.

I honestly have no idea. I don't have any inside scoop or anything like that. Literally just passing along what the guy told us. I hope that if the list does indeed come out in October that they will put at least one class before the end of this year. They typically do a small bmoc class in December correct? I think realistically that's best case scenario, otherwise we are looking at beginning of next year.

I asked the one of the sgts that is in the leadership unit, he said "either October or November." They're taking a month or so break after they exhaust the sgts 2013 list in August.

the 2013 exam waited 8 months for their official score in the mail

10/19 exam with a 6/14 Official notice score

and took approx 3-4 years to get promoted

you 2017 guys are going to begin getting PROMOTED at the 8 month time period and crying that you want the score sooner.  In order to get promoted in october your obviously getting your score sooner than everyone else had to wait. You 2017 brats have nothing to complain about

Being misunderstood is not the same as being a cry baby.

Clearly you think EVERYONE in the mentoring training actually got Mentored. Many people did T/S and Patrol with zero training duties as a supervisor in the base and in the field. That was my argument. That it was useless and a waste but i was half mistaken. Although many did get the proper training. Many did not.

But you wouldnt understand complex thinking and the subtleties between the two.

go sit down ?  Good one - you tier 3 doofus

This means that two Sergeants have already been assigned to review the test. The TVB (Test Validation Board) has begun !

They will review the protests (there are just under 1,000 protests for this exam, which is dissapointing). They will probably be assigned there for over a month (they arent in a rush to review the protests). The changes will be submitted and then it'll most likely take another month for the list to be released. I wouldnt look for a list until October.

At least we know there has been progress.

For those within close range of passing, start praying, the TVB has begun !!!!

Good update.  How were you able to to confirm the # of protests that were submitted? Did you send in a FOIL request?

I didn't send a FOIL request but I ended up having a good source. Limited info is usually given because the process is confidential and they can't release info until its all finished up.

But the TVB is going on and the protests are being reviewed. Right now it seems like the process will take another month or so. Anyone who thinks the list is coming out this month or September is just guessing. The list will be out October or even November, and the leaks of how many throwouts etc. will be out by end of next month guaranteed. You will all see for yourselves.

A Late September list release isnt out of the question either. But 100%, no list this month or beginning/mid September.

We have waited so long already, and its almost all over. Hoping a throw out or two goes my way.
