The Sgts and LT seemed pretty optimistic when they were talking about an April class. They said something along the lines of .. If there is an April class there is a 50/50 chance that 'they' could do up front promotions before the date of the LT test. The LT said they promoted up front a few years ago. ect. I didn't get a feeling like the LT was confirming an April class.. but he did mention it. Our current promotion date is scheduled for Friday March 27. They also told us not to bank on the promotion date cause it could change..
Sorry I am giving out a bit of conflicting info but like many of you, last week I was checking this site on a daily basis looking for news. So in that "spirit" i guess some news is better then no news.
Crossing my fingers for April, I should just make it...or get Rick rolled by a couple. If that's the case oh well, I've waited this long, what's another class.
Simple math reveals the 2013 list will have its first class in Sept or Oct... There are 230ish people left on the 2011 list not counting Jam ups , resignations etc... The avg number of people promoted per calendar month ( not class size) was 34 during 2014...

The way im looking at the Aptil class situation is like this...If the job decides not to put a class in next month, they Prob figured by not putting an April class in, they are nullifying all chances of P.O.'s in that bmoc being able to bitch or sue about not being promoted up front or early in order to take the LT exam. Some smart guy/girl probably said hey let's just not put a class in. This way they are assed out either way, and the March BMOC will be the last class eligible to take the Lt Exam. Then May will roll around and they will put in a 55+ class to compensate. Maybe I am giving them too much credit, but you never know. I am a handful of names away and have given up all hope that im taking this exam lol. Again, just MY opinion.
I strongly doubt the dept is worried about law suits. There is no basis for a law suit if you're not promoted. And if you are you can apply for the test and do the necessary 49 needed right up until the day before the test as long as you're promoted by then. If they need supv there will be a bmoc. If not they'll wait a month. It's way too early still to make a comment on next month. No one knows yet. Relax guys

In the beginning of the month they were very confident that there was goin to be a April class but the past few days they said they doubt a class is gonna go in...but that can change...they dont have a definite yes or no yet...keep uz posted
Haven't been had ... Just what I heard ... I'm on 2013 list so I want you all to get promoted as fast as possible ... My "source" is from 13th flr at 1pp... I'm not name dropping and he is a supervisor up there ... And thats what I was told ... And don't expect to get promoted up front IF an April class happens....
