Congratulations to all who made it this month.
To everyone else still waiting like I am, hang in there.
Disregard the gloom and doom that people are starting to spread. All these guesses about when the list is getting cut or if it's getting cut. Can we drop it, we all worked hard for this. Just because you made it already, or your on the next list waiting for this one to finish doesn't mean it's ok to start casing shadows over other people.

I didn't say it's getting cut. I'm talking about all the people on here spreading rumors. Every time a new list comes out instead of us just congratulating people who made it. All people do on here is talk about who isn't going to make it.

No one is saying the list is getting cut, sans a few trolls on this site.  The whole list will be made by may.  Just be patient.

Today I feel betrayed by a job that I love, since day one I have given it my all, I have always worked hard and earned my paycheck working not just showing up. Not only have I worked hard but also effectively, for the amount of activity I have done the complaints against me are nonsense and worthless of only those retaliating against me for doing my job well. I have never been suspended, modified, or given charges and specs or been on any type of monitoring. I have received nothing but praise from all of my supervisors. But with all that all I am told is we are not considering you at this time and we cannot give you anymore information. I will continue to keep my head high knowing I am an excellent police officer and will hope that this department could recognize that I deserve this promotion as much as anyone else.

Call civil service commission! They should be able to guide you as far as who to call and what they can do on their end!

Like I've always said you can get passed over for the following things.

1-iab on going case

2-force monitoring

3-inspections open case

4.oeeo

you will never know you have a ongoing investigation untill you are passed over or called for a GO15.HEMAN if it's not that's serious They will clear you for the next class. For now go to your ico and ask.If you have done nothing wrong you will get promoted.

Call labor relations and see what they tell you. They may be able to at least get some more information or lead you down the right path.

Good luck though man because that's really sucky and upsetting. Stay tough!

If they won't tell you, it's either an open case (IAB, EEO, etc..) or force monitoring, and not even your ICO can look up your open cases...

If you are not being told why you have been skipped that is a clear indication that you are probably the subject of an investigation far more serious than an open ccrb case. Being skipped without being informed of the reason why would indicate, in my opinion, that you are the subject of an IAB or OEEO investigation, and that it is serious enough to merit the withholding of all information to you. Good luck brother.

He-man keep your head up. You WILL make it in. I was in the top 65 on the 2009 list. they passed me over so many times, I couldn't keep count. End result, I died on the list and never made it. I had to take the 2011 exam and passed it again. if you have something open they have to pass you over. Again, hold your head high. They would love to see you shut down and do nothing. Then CARB will have a reason to skip you. keep doing your thing and it will all work out.

First of all CONGRATS to all 55 who made it!
I'm sorry for He-man34. That's like a worst nightmare that anyone of us can face when your number is up. You don't know it until it actually happens to you.
I'm about 60 names away. Hoping November is not gonna be a down month and keep up the pace. Good luck to the rest of this list!

What exactly can/will labor relations be able to do?

I'm not sure what they can exactly do but they will be able to tell you your rights and at least point you in the right direction. It's worth the time it will take just to give them a call. That's a great office & they are here to help you.

I got promoted 2 years ago with 5 or 6 open lawsuits that i'm still going to corp counsel for, they don't matter, especially if you are indemnified in all of them and the corp counsel has taken up your defense. Being a witness does not count against you in any way. You are definitely the subject of some kind of open case. You won't find out what it is until you get GO-15'd or it gets closed out. Trust me on this. You said you never got charges and specs nor were you ever on force or performance monitoring. It has to be an open case. Once it's closed out, your ICO can look it up and tell you what it was about. While it's open, only IAB knows what its about and they sure as hell won't tell you. NOBODY will tell you whats going on until you get GO'd or its closed out.

HE-MAN I've said this 100 times already. There are several reasons to get passed over.

1) lawsuits with significant cash settlements or guilty verdicts.

2) performance monitoring

3) pending departmental charges! (Not ccrb charges) or charges which have been signed off on but carried a severe penalty I.e 30 day hit and probation.

4) any open IAB investigation titles "c" - which means open corruption investigations. (Nobody will tell you if you have one of these open)

For 1,2 & 3 you go to carb. For the last one if the case is unfounded they will just clear you and put you in the class. If it's founded they may send you to carb or most likely deem you unpromotable due to a corruption substantiated investigation.

If you don't know what happened you obviously have the last one.... good luck

Oh and IAB has 18 months to hold onto a case before a disposition is mandatory.

Open IAB investigation and you are a witness. Is that a problem, will that hold off promotion?

No. Unless you witnessed corruption in which case you failed to report it.
