Well as CAT stated, a finest came down and the new class is going in on Monday August 4th 2008. 16 total, I will get back to you all with how many are left.

cat- i want to man up and say sorry for my previous post. i dont have any inside info but i am going to make a comment. i think that this proves that they are not going to promote off our list until next jan. it doesnt make sense for bmoc to put in 16 people. im actually pretty upset. be well all.

So whats the story, im seeing one post that says the august class is cancelled then im reading that a finest message came down....Whats the the deal?? and also whats the deal with the 08 list?? Is it coming out after this next class goes in or what??

I dont agree with posting the names on the public forum either, but trying to insult someones mother is totally uncalled for. Just to think that these are the same people that possibly passed the test and are going to be setting an example for cops crazy.
posting of a last name and command is no more harmful than a member of the "public" seeing a cop on the street and noting their last name and command which is displayed on their uniform........it is no more different (and less telling) than all the names listed publicly in a phone book and available on the internet......so unless the first name, address, birthdate and phone number of such persons are listed, i see no problem with it.
some people just need to bitch. If a cop gets jammed up or does something stupid on the job and their name gets thrown around the internet, thats when I have a problem with dropping someones name. But c'mon its a promotional list, these names were already made public.
I agree, i am one of the names on the list, and as stated above it merely has our last name and command we used to work at. Big deal, any joe schmoe can get that from walking up to you on the street. I see no problem with it at all.
What goes on here is a microcosm or what the problem is on our job.
1. Those who try to do the right thing and offer help to other cops is attacked by the ones without the info for the mere sake of being cynical and jealous. 2. Some cops just look for the negative in all others and twist everything to the negative only to frustrate those who are trying to "do the right thing". 3. We don't trust each other and doubt each other's motives and knowledge 4. We lose sight of our goals. To do our jobs, stay safe, go home to our family or pet or home and to get a contract that makes it worth putting our lives on the line in a city that holds us in contempt and persecutes us at the drop of a hat.
When you look at the way some bosses on this job go out of their ways to wreck and i mean wreck our lives just "because they can" and the way the white shirts job hypocritically protects and "takes care" of each other while taking our guns and shields away at the drop of the pen (the media pen) that is one would think we would start to come together with our common plight.
When you look at this forum which could be a great source of information being tainted by tangents, digs, insults, infighting etc, I don't wonder why the precincts and the specialized details have all become an "every man for themselves" atmosphere with one cop/det screwing the next for their own selfish gain.
START A MOVEMENT and call it ... I don't know... call it what ever you want but we need to start over and start looking out for each other before this job is so far gone that we all dread going to work.
Sorry for the rant but I check on here every day for promotion info and only see what i described recently. Good luck and congrats to all who passed.
