I know Muppet posted on examx that he heard 15 Lt's for the end of March and I know he's been very accurate in the past. However the reliable people who give me info are all still telling me at least June for us. The end of March makes no sense anyway as they are still way over quota with Lt's. Especially with Bloomberg having all city agencies cutting back, I see no possible way that they will promote and continue to be way over quota. If I wrong on all this, well thats great for the first 15 on our list. It's bad for everyone else because now the clock will start ticking and adding 15 more Lt's will just push them over quota even that much more, which means very little promotions for the unforseeable future and the clock will now be running! That will be a clear sign that this job has no intention of exhausting this list or coming anywhere close. I don't wish against those at the top, but starting the clock now with no vacancies will be bad for a lot of us.
I hope they do finally get the list moving.We know its going to be slow.All you can hope for is some guys make captain and some retire and keep it moving.Maybe it will start slow and pick up the pace.
I don't know where you people are getting that there are Lt vacancies because the fact is there are none. Anyone who thinks they are promoting Lt's this month can keep dreaming, unless the department wants to stay above quota for some reason. Honestly people, even with the few promoted to captain, have you seen fifty something people leave the job since november?
